Thanks Guys,
You all have good points, can't wait to get on the road. This is my 2nd brand spanking new outta the box new bike in 9 years. So I plan on just a little babyin, for the first day anyway... I will be looking for 2 lane roads, probably in traffic, and as cold as it is, probably stop a couple of times even before I hit 50 miles. I'll let it cool and let me warm.
I don't plan on hitting any interstates on the way back either. 1. Wind Chill 2. Wind Chill.
3. No good BBQ Joints.
I have done quite a few LDistance rides 2K+ in the past, only one time did I hit freezing rain. That was not fun, not enough warm layers on that trip. I would trailer home if it was really really cold, but I hope not to run into ambients under 40 while riding.
I got the Helmet
I got the home made turtleneckthing
I got the face tube
I got the longjohns & the T's
Let's see, gloves with fingers, no holes in socks, long pants, windbreaker, rainsuit, and assorted things one should not take through airport baggage. Yup, I am READY!!
Rhino
Frankly, I look at this as one very important mission. Getting back home and bringing the bike in for the 1K service. Need to play around w pipes and such, becasue there is no such thing as a stock bike in my OCD vocabulary. (Shhh dont tell momma)
