My mom passed this morning

Quite a few of our members have been here to my place over the years.  Either stopping by going between east and west or, unfortunately often for the riders, stopping by with bike problems in their travels.  My apologies for not keeping track of everyone that's been by and those that have met my mom.  But it's a few.  A couple of the BSRs have even chatted with her after on the phone too.  So to those that have met the old gal just wanted to share that she passed away this morning.

Mom's wishes had always been that when her time came she die at home with no intrusive care and just her and close family here.  So that's exactly what we did.  She's been ill the last four months or so.  It was a respiratory decline that began after a bad flu.  COPD and other issues had left her with only barely enough respiratory capacity to begin with and this episode was just a tipping point that started this final decline.  She lived a full life though.  Died at almost 81 and did so with no significant discomfort.  It was a thankfully peaceful passing.

To those that met her and those with parents of their own yet needing our care thanks in advance for the good thoughts.  Mom enjoyed it when the riders came by and would chat her up a bit and I enjoyed watching her participate.  It was good for her.  So my thanks to all that did meet her and took the time to say hi.

Don, I am sorry for your loss but happy for the fine memories you will always be able to fall back on when the sadness crops up.  Both my parents have passed and the memories at times brings me to tears of laughter, I hope the same for you.

No way to explain the thought's that flood back with the loss of a parent. She was lucky to not only have passed peacefully, but to have had you for a son. My condolences

My condolences and prayers to you, Don, on the loss of your mother.  From the comments and your post, it sounds like she was not only blessed with a good, long healthy life but to have a wonderful son like you.
