Gary, they aren't that bad because of the way they were designed to channel the gases to cycle the action.

Yup yup yup,  I love my DE .50....  however, I DO NOT like the way it weighs me down.  So if I have to walk far at all, I will invariably reach for a lighter package.  

I haven't kept up with the renditions of the Desert Eagle, and did not know they had moved to a multi barrel package...   Lucky for me it Christmas time, and the wifey is still a little confused right now by my new pay grade....     Yeehaw!!!!!!

He's right, ya know.  The .50 is a nice slow push.  Quite comfortable for recoil. A little on the loud side, but not sharp and unfriendly sounding. Those little piker rounds like a .45 winMag and the old standby .44 mag have to hit real hard real guick to get any horsepower, and it slaps the hand like ya momma used get ya with a spoon.  (verrrrry uncomfortable)     On the other hand, my story doesn't really explain why I shook the crosshairs out of the first two scopes I put on it...hmmm......   Never mind.  It really is very comfortable to shoot.  

BTW, the hand cannon is something completely different, but I can't talk about that here, becasuse it would be off topic......... [smiley=oops.gif]

So I have been thinking about the shot of the three calibers and thought I'd do one from the gun safe to include the S & W 500 just to give a little more perspective to the .50 caliber horsepower debate.
