Who rode on New Year's Day?
« on: January 01, 2014, 02:43:45 PM »

How many believe in the superstitions like eating black eyed peas & collards for the yearly luck on New Year's Day?  And, doing what you want to do a lot of the rest of the year on the 1st day of the year?  I had to eat some black eyed peas and rode ole granny a few miles just in case there is anything to these ole sayings.  :huepfenlol2: :D Anyone else use this excuse to put a few miles on your scoot today? ::)  har.  spyder

9th Annual Steel Horse HOG Polar Bear ride.  Not too cold, but beautiful day.  Had about 70 bikes on the 35 mile ride.  All in all, rode about 130 miles today.

You would have needed a life jacket over here, but least it should get rid of the salt

Road with a 1/2 dozen friends today for our annual New Years Day Ride.  Haven't been rained or snowed out for years..  Covered about 200 miles in Virginia and Maryland.. Some rode more to/from the meet up spot.  Chilly this morning, but finally got above 40 after lunch.

Today is my wife's birthday, so we took the long way ( 175 miles ) to meet her mom and sis for lunch. Beautiful day here in TX.  30's in the am and 60's on the way home. Lately I've added a wireless dual controller for the heated gear and got to use that this morning.

Several m/c clubs (HOG and a couple independents) ride down to the Mississippi River to support a bunch of crazy skiers who ski for pledges to raise money for the Dream Factory (kind of like Make-A-Wish).  And we always pass the hat and today got $1k for them them.  Then we rode to lunch and around town a little.  30 degrees at 8 am, 45 degrees after lunch but lots of sun so it was a great way to start the new year.

Happy New Year to all my CVO friends.   :orange:

Had low 40's  here in Korea and took advantage of it. No pictures but had a good 50 mile ride after eating the black eyed peas and collard greens.
