Full length dual system thats loud like the V&H Big Radius
« on: January 01, 2014, 10:04:34 PM »

Okay, got the new fulsac baffles in along with the fulsac x pipe that was on the bike when I bought it (13 road king)

my 12 ultra I put the V&H BiG radius exhaust on and loved the sound,  sounds good and loud at idle and good and loud when your on it.

with the road kings deeper bags, I want to keep an exhaust that runs all the way out.   I like a loud bike,  I want people to hear me,  and personally, I love the loud sound.

I do want it to make good power and look nice as well.

what's the way to go

Check out the 2-1 short pipe made by http://www.misfitbaggers.com/Exhaust-Systems_c_53.html I just tuned one and it made great power was loud and to say the least I was shocked at how well the tq curve was.  Chris is the owner over there. Tell him I said hello.

with the look of the road king,  how the bags droop, I really want a 2 out exhaust.   The way the bags shape around the exhaust, the bike just wouldn't look right with a 2 into 1

Used to have a friend with a road king that had V&H longshots. They exit on the same side though. They wern't real loud that I remember. Don't know if they still make them or not.

if it exits on one side, and is quiet,  that is the exact opposite of what I want.

I want loud, and both sides

I went with the V&H power duals with the V&H Hi output slip ons. A lot of folks here don't like the hi output slip ons because they say there is a torque dip with them due to less back pressure. The sound is incredible. As far as a torque dip, even though it is probably there, well I don't find it too bad. I sure cant feel it in the seat of my pants. I wound up with 98 HP and 118 FT LBS of torque after dyno tuning and I am not trying to shave 10ths of seconds off of quarter mile times anyway. Plus I am sure I will do some more mods such as cams and things a few years down the road and will already have a suitable exhaust. I say again the sound is awesome and these slip ons really fill up those bag cutouts.

You want loud get true duals or power duals and 4" rinehart a or cfrs. A buddy has the rhineharts no packing and v&h true duals on a 103"sg and it's about as loud as I've heard. The cfrs are the loudest I've ever heard for a touring bike but are not easy to tune, if all you wants loud try one of them. Believe both have websites w/ sound bits.

Vance & Hines Tru-Duals with thier Hi output slip-ons sounds like a big block Chevy with straight headers. Not for me. But they sound cool as hell on friends bike. IMHO

you could just put bigger baffles in the cans - fulsac makes them in different sizes and if all you want is loud then put in the biggest baffle with no wrap and it will be very very loud.

remember - if its loud enough at some point it will actually have less power.

If you already have the Fullsac baffles just pull them and wrap the first section of the baffle with light tin or aluminum and a couple clamps to hold it on then slide back in cheap and loud. Or ask Steve at Fullsac to make you a custom set. Just another thought.

I already did that,  went from the quietest to the loudest they make, and not loud enough for me

are you talking about the end of the baffle by the tips, or the other end?

with the fullsac x in, how much of a power loss are we talking with no baffles?
