Tommy,

Most of you are all changing the pipes, the air cleaner, and adding a SERT or other Tuning product.

My concerns if you discount the ones above are then limited to 4 or 5 items, which is really no different than many of the threads of what people are bitching about about their individual bikes.  From Paint, Chrome Peeling, Wobbles, Tracking, Burning of Oil, Speed Sensors etc.

Candy you are right, but to go a bit further.

The radio issues dont stop me from using it its just a point of frustration.
The heated seat 2 settings hot and hotter ...

ok call me crazy. I have been in a crash as well. 3-28-06 so I can talk the talk. Almost dead, I won't list my injuries because that is over as far as what happend but I did not give up riding as all I know said i should, except the real people. I got the Ultra 2007 because that became my healing point my goal my dream. I know next year it will be better and the year after that will be better and so on and so on but I love my bike period. I don't have the $$$$ to go nuts as some of my brothers and sisters do and thats ok cause I have the bike of my dreams and I will make her mine slowly. MY key is slowly. I am happy I am alive, and I am enjoying the journey. If I married a blond  I would not tell her to become a red head, get blue eyes, have a little nip and tuck here and there and become everything i did not get the first place. I should have waited for the right one to come along.  I am happy with her so I am happy period. Forgive me for defending my bike and the MOCO. If you want to make changes so be it. If you want to make her better OK as well but don't bash the company who gave her to us because no one made you or me buy her but ourselves. It is what it is so enjoy her. Sorry but I am still on the drugs! [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

If everyone liked the same things H-D would only make one model and the aftermarket companies would not exist. Early on when I joined the site I quickly learned the dangers of commenting on someone else's ride. I have my preferences, you have yours. I may think a particular model sucks, but you'll never see me say it on this site EVEN IF ASKED AND PROMISED NO HARD FEELINGS. Our rides are a personal thing. Dissin someone else's is almost like dissin their family. Add this to the list of Religion and Politics.
I met Harry at MV. One of the first things I noticed about him is that he is direct. No long way to any subject with Harry. You ask, you get , straight up. I like him for that. He's also not alone in that way on this site. At the end of the day, wouldn't you rather deal with that than be BS'd ? As to anyone other than the member who started this thread. Why are you offended. Nobody was talkin to you.

B B

PS
A lot of folks on this site have been down. Some hard, some really hard and some really really hard. Ain't no picnic no matter the outcome. Everyone's different in how they deal with what comes after. Again, personal issues. Nuf Said !

I think there is no perfect bike, no matter what the brand or model within that brand.

I love my bike...it's not perfect...but I'm slowly getting it the way I want it, and it will probably continue to be an ongoing process...hell, if we all admitted it, that's part of the joy of owning one of these great machines.  If mine was stolen, or God forbid, I went down on it like Jerry did in MV, and I was able, I would buy another one and start over.  If it was an 07, I'd buy one of those, and if the damn GPS wasn't up to my snuff, I'd replace it with another Garmin product.  The seat would still suck for me, so I'd replace it again too.  And the handlebars.

Yes, there's some things that should be better, and could be, and we've got good cause to fuss about it, but it just gives us all a good excuse to be here.

The bottom line is that I don't think anyone who is a member of this site, and either owns or is about to own one of these machines, whether it's from 01 or 07, would trade it for anything else until for some reason they want to.  Meanwhile, we'll all just keep tweaking, doing a little bitchin' about the way things ought to be, enjoying each other's company whether it be in person or through Cyberspace, and learning from each other...whether it's about the bikes, or about the more personal things we sometimes choose to reveal.

That's all I've got to say about that...hope nobody is offended.

First I would like to thank everyone that has responded to my question.  I asked it because I want to know what to expect form this bike ( the good & the bad).  I have a FBSE that I LOVE & have been happy with ( after about $5,500 of adjustments to it). This site is to help people like me to understand what we are about to get into when we buy something new and what we can expect from it. To me that is what makes this site so great.

So keep the comments comming!!!

harry-
we be cool. sometimes I get a tad nutz and maybe take things a little to close to the heart and for that I am sorry. I would never want anyone to not post for fear of not getting along with the group. Your thoughts are as valid as mine. There are lots of great ideas, fixes and people on this site. It is very deep in talent.

So you got yours I got mine and we can all get along.
Ride safe brother!
