Injectors won't make any difference in a air filter, pipes and tune setup.

Brian

I disagree!
Although this thread is about a 110 my 120 is not that far away.
My 120 came with a "California" map which meant, it ran like crap.
On the dyno after tuning it ran great but made little horsepower and torque.
We discovered it has a 46mm throttle body on a motor that the factory recommends a 53mm.
On this 46mm T/B the stock injectors were replaced with larger ones and I picked up 8 horsepower and 10 ft lbs of torque.
The motor was starving for fuel.
That was just a temporary fix. The rest will be resolved here very soon!

My point--------> bigger injectors made a big difference on my 120.

Given what Hoist was asking about (a stock motor) there's not a question that the stock injectors are "plenty."

Good explanation Don
In TMCC's case I think they were (are?) in over their head on the 120.
Have to wonder how many 120's they have out there with the 46mmT/B that run like crap?
Thank goodness they stepped up to the plate and footed the bill.

 [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

It's great they respond like that Chip.  Got to make a guy feel comfortable knowing that's going to happen.  I remember you writing of their need to get EPA certs for the 120 so you were likely one of their very first ones.  Hopefully not a lot of others got out the same way.  If they are as good as you've seen they probably got hold of what few others might be out there and got them corrected too.  It's got to be a whole lot easier decision to make for them when they are lucky enough to be able to catch the problem when it's a small population that needs corrected rather than hundreds or thousands.

Chip,

Do you have a dyno run of the 53mm throttle body and the stock injectors to compare against the 53mm and the large injectors?

Hedging here, but my guess is you put the larger throttlebody on with the larger injectors and saw the increase?

Harry

Don't assume (you know that drill)
Or hedge!
The throttle body that was on the Frontier from the factory was a 46mm.
Read my post, the Jim's rep recommended a 53mm or a 56 if modified.
The larger (yellow band) injectors were installed in the 46mm T/B at T-Mans.
At Maggie Valley the bike ran with the 46mmTB.
All that is history now.
[highlight]The motor is in pieces all over the country.[/highlight]

Is that good enough Dawg?

Sorry bout the delay in responding, musta missed Harry's post!

Man, that's a helluva explosion.  Think you over-revved it?

Naw dOOd
That has already been acomplished.
I was also amazed. But it is what it is.
No matter whats said, it's was a stock motor from the factory and thats the incentive.
I play with the 120 because the voices in my head make me!

 [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

and it's part of the plan
I like a plan!

Brian

I'm a firm believer in leading by example.

When Hubbard or anyone passes me I take notice as to what type, style, size criteria and installation methods and procedures were used to go past me.
Criticism of component selection is only valid when critcism has passed me and all I see is their tail lights. Until then it's just B/S.
That a fine SEEG you have!

 [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Hey Chip I have to tell you that I am a bit embarassed, seems Brian went and verified with T-Man on the throttle body change and I guess I shouldn't have said anything you were right.  It's not my bike, but I consider Brian a friend and felt it was worth helping him.   In retrospect I probably shouldn't have been so direct in telling him to get rid of it (throttlebody), but that is just me being me, overly direct.  So you were right, I shouldn't have stuck my nose in there to try and help Brian out.   I feel really bad, because it cost him a few hundred bucks to improve his numbers on the bike and the power delivery.  I will "try" best I can to keep my comments to myself moving forward as I haven't passed you on my bike and that of course should be my standard for helping others.
