The Harbor Freight black wheel chock would work well for this.  Its made very cheap but with the front cross brace it will hold bike upright.  Keep an eye on their ads and can frequently catch it for under $50 with 20% discount coupon.  I'm not suggesting it is anywhere near as good as the wheeldock but for this use its fine.

This is what I use.  I also use it in my Toy Hauler when traveling.  Just place it on a rubber mat, tie bike down, and go. Arrive at destination, remove bike, lift chock, place in truck bed.

For $100 it seems like a great deal with all those adapters. 50# of shipping weight though.

I put 2 eyelets in the ceiling in my garage and run tie straps down to the bars. Cross the tie straps makes it more stable (from left eyelet to right side of bars,etc.). I also leave the kick stand down just in case it were to fall left it would catch it. Works like a charm even if you have the bike on a jack this offers a bit more security with less chance of it crashing down off the jack.

Tape the front brake, a rag around the grip and lean it against the wall. If you are careful this works great. Cheap to.

I have the J&S lift and no problems with the bike falling off. I also have the center stand on my 2010 Softail CVO and that works great for changing my oil... Also since my wife has never road a bike by herself, that center stand lets her practice with the clutch and shifting gears until the weather changes and she can take a local riders program for new riders. Should put her ahead of the game a little bit....  :bananarock: :carrot: :pepper:... :drummer:

Buy the Condor stand. Not cheep but works great and you can mount it in a trailer. I got mine for $239 at the DC bike show last month.

Or, Harbor Freight has a similar one for $65. :)

Mount a wheel chock to a piece of plywood.  You could make it any size you want and able to move out do the way as well.

buy a scissor jack on ebay. $69.  best tool to have.  better than a pump jack, gets to smaller areas and cranks with a socket wrench.  love mine. :2vrolijk_21:

I've been using the Harbor Freight wheel chock above since 2009 bolted into the floor. It's under $50 with the 20% off coupon. It worked for my '09 Super Glide, 2010 Road King and my present '11 CVO Road Glide. I ride into it nearly everyday without an issue after all this time.

If you have rear engine guards (crash bars) try this.  Make a box out of 3/4" plywood about the size of a milk crate.  From the high side pull the bike up off the side stand and push the box/milk crate under the rear engine guard until it rests on the box.  With the wheel  straight it will sit there straight up and stable.  Make sure it's in gear.  Learned this trick from an old HD dealer in Donora, PA.  Also the box you make will be a good stool for cleaning the bike.
