stock exhaust system for 2013 SERK
« on: February 16, 2014, 10:22:47 AM »

Just curious, but I still have my original stock exhaust system and am now running a D&D Boarzilla. I've read on here about misplaced O2 bungs, excessive heat and discoloration issues. I also need a ghost pipe and that's about $300. If I wanted to put the original exhaust back on, what performance mods can be made? Would I need slip-ons to even come close to the D&D, the bike runs amazing and I'd hate to screw that up!?If so which ones work best? What about the cost?

Thanks!

Best bet for the stock look would be baffles and a catless head pipe from Fullsac, you would re use your existing mufflers and heat shields. If you already have a tuner you can leave that out. http://www.fullsac.com/sleeper-kit-110.html

Delgado,

Yes, I have a PC-III now. So I would need to take it to a tuner once I made the conversion?

If it were me I would take it back to the person who originally tuned it and have them check it after the install. Dyno time is not cheap but better than ruining an engine. Steve at Fullsac could better tell you if the tune you currently have would be good with one of his head pipes. He would be glad to help, send him a pm or ask when you call to order the pipes and baffles. I would suggest the screen inserts with the baffles so you can put some of the insulation back in the mufflers, I used about half on each one. I have no idea of the flow characteristics of his pipe compared to a D&D pipe, they may be close.
