also of note...and a credit to Steve

This build features parts that can be purchased right thru his shop as part of a formula to get these or very similar results...depending on pipe,TB etc

Also of note is the heads used on this build.

I do not know what Steve charges for this level of headwork but you can bet that it isn't the $900-$1700 to upwards of $2000 that some shops are getting for headwork that are regularly used on builds similar to this and for $1500+ more that do not offer this level of performance.

So hats off IMO this is how its done.....follow a recipe that gives the customer the performance and reliability they are looking for at a reasonable cost

I totally agree and from a performance standpoint, I wouldn't let any body else touch my bike.

Just wondering - what was the problem that the base line run shows?  Pretty pitiful it seems to me.  Was that due to the cam, pipes, bad tune, all of the above?  In any case after you did your 'magic' it is totally awesome!   :2vrolijk_21:

I made a base line to show the change from what the customer had to start with. The specs are listed on the sheet and the bike had been tuned twice. The fullsac pipe is a C pipe and the mufflers where SE slip ons I think maybe they had been cored .. It does not matter much. Bike was tuned I brought it up to temp and it shows what it made. Mores done look at the base line as ugly but ZERO.  All power made that is more is the improvement.  :2vrolijk_21:

110 engines seem to be all low end torque and no horsepower stock. You obviously nailed the torque curve big time!! and you got an increase of 14 ft.lbs. You hit the goal there for sure!!

Although you were not worried about horsepower, as a side benefit, that is where you got the biggest overall gain of
29HP!! That's a GREAT number!

With the awesome low to mid range torque and the big horsepower increase on top this bike should be very strong
whether you are taking off from a stop light or passing a car on the interstate.

This should be a standard for any 113 build. GREAT JOB GMR!!!

Width of of tq curve is where you really feel the "pull" and its hard to compare as this bike was not putting out great numbers. Now each bike is its own deal so just because one bike had a stellar curve does not mean this one would ever do that  or would it??  We will never know , but the fact remains the build is able to produce a broad power area that is on tap at any given point.

It is funny to flick the throttle on this bike on the street 1-2 shift and yank the front end and carry it. Or whack it wide open and broil the tire.  It will broil the tire well into 3rd gear with little trouble at all. Sideways in 2nd is fun in third you have some pretty good speed by that point and the snap back straight is a tad violent ;D

Overall the build was never meant to be a dyno king or win any contest. Goal #1 was touring power , without breaking the bank.  2 more builds to go and all have different ex systems so once these are done we will have a very good feel for how well the kits works with more than one system, as all other parts are the same.   I am still waiting for one guy on here to let the cat out of the bag  ;)

Lord, I sure hope so!! :2vrolijk_21:

I am still waiting for one guy on here to let the cat out of the bag  ;)

Hey Steve,

I don't know if I'm the cat you want out of the bag, but if it's me let that sucker out!!  :2vrolijk_21:

I took my bike down to Steve for a build just like this one last weekend and I haven't stopped smiling since I left his shop. After seeing the results of this Road Glide, I only hope my ride gets results close to this. I don't care if my CVO friends on this site know what I'm doing, in fact I talked to a few here while making my decisions, and I'll be telling everyone about the results.

I'm not going to tell my local riding buddies what I did right away but I have a feeling they're going to figure it out when we get on the road.  8) There's a serious lack of competent tuners in my area and it wouldn't surprise me if this doesn't start a convoy of bikes heading to GMR for proper performance work.

You guys can count on a full report when I get my bike back but I can tell you now that Steve spent a lot of time (hours) with me on the phone helping me figure out how to put what I had in my head into my bike. I'm a H-D novice and Steve had a lot of patience with me an I really appreciated it. When I got to his shop he took time to give me a tour, to talk about my build, and show me the parts that we're upgrading to versus the stock stuff. After doing a lot of research I took my bike 725 miles to Steve because I have the utmost confidence that he's the right man for the job.  :2vrolijk_21: and now I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas. I can't wait to ride my "new" bike.
