Doing the same thing.  Got a question, I've got the tank off and can't find the connection that is suppose to be under there for the front turn signals.  How did you wire your signals that you relocated?

On HD Forums, a guy with a standard Breakout showed a picture of a six wire connector, but I can't find one like that on my bike.

Help,

There isn't one like that on the CVO models. The turn signals and switches are a module. Had to run wires inside the bar back down to the signals after soldering a connection. This is per the dealer they did the work and did a phenomenal job.

Oh boy!  Thanks for the information

I've spent many hours reading up on this install and have yet to come across this very important piece of information until now.

That means pulling all the wires back out of the bars and rewiring.  Already cut the lights off, hope I left enough wire to solder to.

Nice! Looks like a clean job.

Are the bars comfortable? What kind of pipes are those?

The pipes are Bassani Pro Street Turn Outs and the bars are Harley's Apes for the Breakout. Their catalog in one place says they are 10" in another 12". Dealer couldn't even say for sure. I ordered them any way and they measure 14" from highest to lowest point and I love them. It requires some getting use to but I think they are going to end up being more comfortable. They seem to keep me more upright in the saddle instead of leaned over a bit.

The turn signals/switches are modules on all current Softails.  They are a part of the can bus system.  Basically it is 2 wires that go to different electrical components, that send/receive commands to the individual components rather than keeping a constant 12 volts for parking lights, and pulsing power for blinkers.  Then can bus system is all wired together on the bike and feeds from the bcm (body control module).  The 6 pin connector found by the neck is direct wired to the bcm, and not a part of the can bus system.  Maybe they left this connector off the CVO?  Seems strange, but who knows with Harley.

BTW ricbrooks2, nice ride.  I love the new blue CVO's.

I just looked at the service manuals for both the Standard and the CVO.  Yes, they are different.  On the Standard, the turn signals are not part of the CANBUS and they have a seperate connection for turn signals under the tank on the front right side.  On the CVO they are part of the CANBUS and there is no connection under the tank for turn signals.  It looks like on the CVO's, wires will need to be ran back down through the bars to the location of your choice.  Why Harley went to the expense to design two different electrical systems on the same bike is beyond me.

You may be able to add the wires to the BCM plug.  Look on the plug and see if the wires are missing from locations J2 and J4.  Those are the turn signal outputs.  The running light wire is just tapped into a common circuit that goes to pin J3 on that connector.  That one goes to the rear running lights as well.  The ground can just be grounded anywhere, or tied into another.

If you do run the wires back down the bars, I would put a connector somewhere between the bars and the forks.

That's a great idea and I sure hope that I can.  I'm just guessing that since the CVO version came out before the Standard that Harley just forgot about turn signal relocation until they got some negative feedback.  That's why it was redesigned when the Standard was introduced.  Or HD engineering is just real stupid.

Never tried them in another position , when they were put-on I just sat on the bike and put them where they felt comfortable.
