Guys, I can't imagine what our young male boxer actually would do but I think the tree is a time lapse of the event.

Wife hangs bells on the bottom branches, when the dogs touch the tree the bells ring and they back away. Trained them real quick, the first couple of times you hear the bells she hollers then they know from then on.
