The saddest thing about this thread is that it's one of the most viewed threads on the entire board!

I left home and less than two hours later, I can't hardly catch up.

Ernie you are certainly right, very sad.

Great Bozo though [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

The trick here is to be...well, as quick as a cat....(sorry, couldn't help myself), even out of a dead sleep...no time for idling or revving the engine...it's WOT or nothing....there are generally a series of Pre-Hurl gagging reflexes on the part of said cat, as heard on the "Here, Kitty, Kitty" audio clip...quickly grab cat, and place on a more suitable surface for capturing whatever state of digestion is about to see the light of day, or night, again.  If you're quick enough, you can remove cat from comforter, and stub toe on bed frame while carrying cat to the tile floor of the bathroom to finish the process.  Depending on what you see come back out, you will already be where you need to be when human hurling begins from viewing half digested mammals said cat has "captured" during the day.  Chipmunk heads are a personal favorite of mine....along with a few blades of green grass, and as Don mentioned, hair for a binding agent.

Mmmmmm...it's lunch time, too...

Absolutely, there's no time to think, if you think - your dead. You just gotta react and hope, through your sleep shrouded haze, you remember to get the cat into the bathroom and not the closet.

Thanks Terry, I just laughed until my eyes leaked thinking about something that happened that I was reminded of by your post there.

Since we are relating stories about cats and their wonderful "prizes"...this is a true story, as I could not possibly, even as sick as my mind is, make this one up...

Once upon a time, in an apartment not 5 blocks from where I sit typing this (at work), I had a solid black Persian cat, appropriately named Lucifer.  At that particular point in my life...1972...well, let's just say I had a LOT more hair, and was a LOT thinner, and was taking a hiatus from most ordinary responsibilities, like going to school, owning reliable transportation, eating right, etc.  Let's just say I was more interested in attaining a higher level of consciousness...or unconsciousness...depending on the substance of choice that day.

Well, in this apartment lived Lucifer, a spiteful little bastard, though I probably deserved some of his spitefulness. Also in this apartment was a water bed...back then they were mostly just a giant plastic sack that you built a frame for out of 2x6 lumber, joined with L brackets, and maybe covered with some kind of cloth or vinyl material. It all resided on the floor.  Other odd pieces of furnishings, like painted 1x12's across decoratively painted concrete blocks for the stereo, and whatever I could find, or borrow, made up the balance of the decor.  The comforter on this particular water bed was one of those black fake fur things...some here probably have a pretty good picture in their mind's eye of what I'm talking about.  I thought it was cool at the time, and so did a few of the young ladies I would meet from time to time in my carefree adventures.

One particular night, I had invited an exceptionally attractive example of "hippie chick" over for a couple of beers and whatever else might be on hand at the time to alter our state of consciousness...particularly hers.  Incense was burning, candles, etc. Despite my obvious poverty, she was quite impressed with the decor...which only further proves how "altered" our state of mind was at the time.  Well, the night progressed quite nicely, and my well thought out plans to show this young lady the water bed "up close and personal" were going just as I had imagined.  As I maneuvered her back to get a better view of the ceiling from the water bed, gently laying her down, imagine my surprise when I felt/smelled something wet and very, very stinky ooze up between my fingers, which were resting on her upper shoulder blade.  Dear Lucifer had apparently paid a visit to the water bed that morning and left a little pile of semi-solid cat chit for me to discover...the incense had covered the smell until disturbed again.

Needless to say, I had a cold shower that night....

Yep, like I said earlier, you know you shouldn't look but you just have to anyway. Then you're sorry you did and go back and look at it some more.

Terry, We might have had the same interior decorator in 1972.

Read this stuff and then notice I can't stop giggling.  Sick threads are the best.

I didn't know this decorator in '72.  But 10 years later he must've still been in business.  I even had the special ping pong table with all the stripes on it and all the ping pong balls painted to show up under black light.  THAT was something that could screw with your mind a little.

TC,
Well told.....loved the story, (this furthers my feelings that the only good reason for keeping cats is that they make good target practice),  and at least you had a water bed in your place (you must have been rich).  My first place had a total of a bean bag chair,  a 13" B/W TV (gifted to me from a friend when he got the huge 19' color), a mattress on the floor and my sportie parked in the living room with a metal pan under it (BTW,  I lived on the second floor,  and went to work early am)....people loved me.....

Needless to say,  with the limited means I had back then,  and my lifestyle.......I'd get them home and never close the deal..........for some strange reason,   women don't like the smell of gas and oil INSIDE the house.   I could never figure that one out.  Go figure.
