Ouch!!!! That looks painful. :'( You seriously may want to have a doc look at it to be on the safe side. You may be becoming allergic to them and may have to carry epinephrine with you. As Candy stated you can become allergic to them over time, and after each time you're bitten the symptoms/reactions get worse all the way up to breathing problems. [smiley=nervous.gif]

You may want to hit a walk-in clinic, why suffer another day?

 [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  What the Doc say?

I had forgotten some of the symptoms that my husband developed after being stung 100s of times by bees, but along with the swelling, red welts, all over body ache and dizziness, he had difficulty thinking too. When he tried to describe his drive home from work, I packed him up in the car and rushed him over to the clinic.  The Doctor seriously scolded him for waiting, telling him that the next sting he gets to consider it life threatening and to seek medical aid as quickly as is possible.  It is not a joking matter.

So all this seriousness about this, don't you just know that bees love him.  He has been bitten last summer when a bee flew up his pant leg ------ ya know how you love to ride dem harleys with your feet in the air.  We quickly got the medication and stuff.  And I can't tell you how many times he has had a bee in and around the same place you described and even a few times he has had to remove his goggles while a bee walked around on the lens.  EEEEEEEEEE!

Mark Saturday night J Carolyn was wondering how you were doing.  Since we were all busy gassing up when you told us about it I didn't understand that the little bugger stung you.  Thought it just hit you.  Hope you are feeling better.  Keep us posted.

Hi Candy,

Brian is deathly allergic to bee stings as well and I'm afraid of them so I'm always freaking out when they are around which does not help the situation any! The bee sting kit that you talked about in an earlier post is that something you all get from the doctor?  Is it a prescription and do you know the shelf life of the medication in the kit? It is definitely something we need to have on the bike and I've been after him about it since we got our first electra glide.

Kathy,
Normally what is prescribed for those seriously allergic to bees is Epinephrine. Your doctor can prescribe it and the have it in pre-measured doses in what's called an "Epi-Pen". All the victim or someone else has to do is take the cap off put the correct end on the person

Years ago, I think they used to give you a syringe of adrenaline. When it turned yellow, you knew it had gone bad and to take it back to Dr. to get a replacement.
I remember my mother had one in her purse for me, just in case. I used to have to go and get a shot once a week for a year to desensitize me from insect stings. Thought I didn't have to worry about it after that, I guess I was wrong. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Of course it has been 50 years between stings. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
Epinephrine is the same thing or may have even been what you describe as "Syringe of Adrenaline" it will make your heart rate go up, and also it will turn yellow/milky when it goes bad.

Mark...sorry to hear about the little bugger popping you on the noggin'...a lot of your reaction is probably due to the location of the sting.  That is a very dangerous area to be stung, particularly if you are even a little bit allergic.  Lots and lots of blood vessels running shallow on your head, so the venom spreads easily and quickly.  I'm alergic, but only to Honeybees, which is odd to me.  I've been eaten up with Yellowjackets (stung over 30 times, all at once) and had no reaction, but a honeybee will make me swell up like a  [smiley=pumpkin.gif].  You be careful, and try not to overtake any more bees from the rear on that  [smiley=banana.gif]  The little guy probably thought he was headed for a big a$$ed nectar treat... ;) ;)
