Dealer is standing firm at $22k trade. He suggested I sell it on eBay as he has before and I have, so I know he's at his limit. Not sure what I'm going to do. I may buy it and sell mine outright.

I texted my plans regarding plan B to my source today but never heard back. I expect to hear from him some time tomorrow morning. I'll keep you posted.

Well work the deal yesterday.  MSRP, just as I figured.  They were also fair on my trade.  They had all the books there for me to look at the trade value range.  They did not screw my around for it having 45,540 miles on the 12 CVO Road glide, they did ask I not ride it to Hot Springs AR this week end, to please ride my King.  Bike should be delivered today, but I will not pick it up until Monday as I am going to Hot Springs this afternoon.

Yea, it is, but I do understand them not wanting 47K on the bike, as they are not happy about 45K, they say its high miles.

I've got 55k on my '11 FLTRUSE. Once I come back from Maggie Valley, it will be at 59k. The high mileage is probably to most compelling reason to trade it on a new CVO. I just consider it the price of resetting the odometer.

That dealership is Harley Davidson of Charlotte. Deal is done, Rob has a new bike. So before you start thinking, "How cool is that", just remember one thing,

"you could be next!"

Wished other Dealers would act that way. Why does Harley publish an MSRP when these hacks are marking the bikes up 2K-5K above that? 


Glad there's at least a few that are willing to make a profit without gouging.

Rob, I'm not trying to but in, just a suggestion, My son is attending MMI in Orlando and i think he hangs out at Orlando H-D he told me they sold 10 RG's the first day, don't know if they were standard or CVO's might be worth checking into, He also told me Windy Hill H-D were good people to work with, He got a good deal on a Ultra Classic there and he's in school and not working, Only income he has is what his GI Bill pays him to go to school.

You need to do what I did... send each dealer a list of what you want (bike + part list), what you want for your bike, and ask them what is the best out the door deal they will give you...

Send this to Space Coast HD, Orlando HD, and the other dealer of your preference (some dealers have bought each other so we now have a few less as I found out when I was buying mine)...

Tell them you are sending the same list to the different dealers, let them know they are competing for your business...  You can do all this via the phone and email... no need to waste time at the dealer.
