Batwing Faring
« on: April 11, 2014, 12:08:35 AM »

Seems like everyone that has a batwing fairing are using Dragon Fly? I'm looking for the pro/cons of the fairing? i.e. is the paint quality up to the strands of the paint on the bike? sound quality of the audio system? how much is the cost? shipping time.

has anyone used a different vendor?

Have you thought about having 1 painted from someone other than the fairing manufacture and adding your own stereo components to it later?

I am having my fairing done by joe from Xtreme Dimension Custom Motorcycles in new jersey. look under vendor discounts in the forums and than custom paint, he has a lot of his work in pictures there. He also can order the fairing of your choice and have it shipped to his shop to save on shipping. He is doing me a dead center fairing for my 2013 cvo road king, burgundy blaze.

Hi mikie3737: Post some pics when it's done. Joe is painting some docking brackets, and helmets in the same colours for me. I may be interested in the fairing too. Thanks: JP  :2vrolijk_21:

I have a 07 SERK, Razor Red with Gold Oak Leaf Flames, The bike was 3 yrs. old when i added the Faring, Hard bags & King Tour Pak, The faring came from Reckless Motorcycles in Maryville, TN. I sent everything to Big Fatty's in Federal Way, WA. to be painted they matched everything to a T, even the Gold Oak Leaf match perfect.

I considered putting a batwing on my CVORK (wound up getting a CVO RGU instead). Here's what I was going to do:
- Non-stereo fairing from Woody's http://www.woodysfairings.com/fairingsetc/HDFRK2.html
- Paint by Xtreme (vendor on this site - their CVO paint match is extremely good)

Woody makes the fairings himself, by hand, so you may have a bit of a wait. Six weeks was what he quoted me last fall. But his cutsomer service is outstanding.
It's a fairly inexpensive route - at least, compared to the alternatives - and gives you wind protection that looks good.

I have dragonfly... Speakers are focal, sumo gps.  Paint perfect match.
But had several customer service issues that would make me think before buying from them again.
