Im going back and forth on swapping out my v&h pro pipe 2-1 for a true dual header and race pro mufflers from cobra.  will I loose that much HP?

Am I really going to notice if I change, I know the bike will sound very different.  Is the difference a huge change or just the DYNO will notice.

I had a Pro Pipe on my '05 flhtcse and loved it. For some reason after a while,  I got the bug to put true duals on it and did it. Personally I was completely disappointed, both in dyno "truth" (wink, wink) and seat of the pants.

Even Wendy noticed when she rode with me - lost a lot of low end grunt. But then it may've been the guys tuning it, where they had less experience with duals. I'd run a Pro-pipe now if they'd do a ghost.

Anyway, folks are better at tuning now and software is better, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

a really good tuner can make a true dual work ok

the real reason to use them is that you like the sound, if you want power use a two into one

if you run really heavy [ie near max gvwr] at legal speeds - stone stock is best

ok.  I am going to keep my pro pipe and repack it.  There is something about the sound that is off.  I think it may need a repack.  Im going to do the one layer of steel wool at the core,  then tight wrap 10oz fiberglass sheet around until its full.  then muffler wire it together.
