What an increase in tq. no wonder you can tell a "huge" difference.  When I added the 575 cams I picked up about the same numbers and also thought it made a "huge" difference, so I can understand where your coming from.  I see you are doing a 48.5 mm TB.  Doesn't our bikes already have a 48 mm stock?  Really impressed with how good that looks on your S.E Fatboy...  Best looking 2-1 I've seen to date!

Street Stalker,
Stock TB is 43mm. I have a stock one that has been bored out to 48.5mm with a manifold that has been ported to match.

I just ordered my Big Radius 2-1 pipe. After a long talk with Vance and Hines sales and technical departments, it is determined that my existing ProPipe 2-1 may be restricting potential horsepower and torque gains. They said the performance package I had added to the 103" may exceed the performance expectations of the ProPipe.

So, it's Big Radius 2-1 time then back to the DynoJet for another round.

Aussie,
Yeah, I was meaning to write you about this fiasco. It went down like this: shop completes engine upgrades. Working great, I put 600 miles on in "break in style". Now, back to shop for oil change, other fluids get fresh too.
The dyno is next.

Now, we're expecting monster results. My prior DynoJet results: HP 102.45 TQ 105.50. We expect numbers like +10 in each category + or - 15%. Instead of those numbers, we get Max Horsepower 105.00 Max Torque 109.00.
The Air Fuel is good as it gets. Now I am pissed cause after 4 or 5 attempts, the numbers really don't justify the hefty cost of over $6,300.00. I was told outright that minimum numbers should be 115 +. No where even close.

So, after a 30 minute debate and various configurations (no baffle, no intake filter, etc..) the tech determines the only factor that might be killing the numbers is my 2-1 ProPipe ('Vance and Hines). Everything should be ok if I upgrade the ProPipe to the Borzilla or Big Radius 2-1. The Vance and Hines staff concur with this assessment. So I ordered the new Big Radius 2-1. Another $600.00 eh?

Other news: the original wizard who first did my DynoJet results may have jacked up the numbers somewhat. His "uncalibrated" Dyno may have unfairly displayed numbers not accurate; however no one there at the shop can determine the precise history because the guy quit and zeroed out the track record. How's that for a crock of chit?

OK. Last item: I had a long talk with the owner, he laid out the details to the best of his ability and thinks the new pipes will open the door for the dyno tech and better results. OH, they forgot to print out the DynoJet Program results. My test is not available right now.

What's a brother to do? The engine seems great, and is running better than ever. The first time I go over 4,000 rpms the bike lit up like a speeding bullet on drugs. But the tuner, well I am now looking for a SERT certified tuner.

After all that time waiting and researching product the only thing I really wanted was to post my results.

How did I do?

Cheers to you my friend,

Kona,

That does sound a bit disappointing with those mods that baby should kick some serious ass! but something did jump out at me, "the SERT" & the fact you mention needing to find a decent SERT tuner! I ended up getting the chits with my SERT as after spending over $400 on a tune by the SERT guru (60 miles away) & they even told me it was running great. It had 5 hp less than when i took it in.  :zwtf:
I happened to know of a Power Commander Specialist only 4 miles away & told him i wanted to put a PCIII over the top of my SERT. he thought i was mad but did it any way & in no time at all my bike was hauling ass. Also an other benifit with the PCII was when I do another mod like adding the Big radius recently its only a quick trip down the road & $50 later I am smiling again.
There is no doubt the SERT is a great product but is useless if you dont have many years of experience building custom maps with them.

Cheers

Aussie,

I got to tell ya, finding a decent knowledge based performance tech specializing in ECU Mapping is one rare breed and hard to find here in the San Fernando Valley, CA. I was heart broken for about 5 minutes. I have passed word around to the various clan members and MC clubs that there is a reward for a tech preferably alive and needing $$.

You are so right, the SERT was my hero upgrade for a long time. That is, until this episode revealed itself.

Ya know, the tech seemed to know the SERT and was familiar with navigation through the software. I was there all afternoon and he know what he was doing.

First I thought I had some compression problems as if one of the cylinders may have a loss in compression or something. I am sure we'll get it up to par, but the money and the waiting are just no excuse for the results.

Kona, This guy has the reputation as being one of the best with a PC, but your gonna have to take a short ride to Sturgis to get it done. I would call him, he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever talk to, and he may have a friend in California he can recommend.

Thats why I may be making O.K power because the Dyno-Tech. knew his chit about SERTS and header, K&N, helped out some also. Hope you get it squared away, It sucks to pay for service and it is half-assed. GOOD LUCK! PURPLE HAZE.

Or join the group in Hot Springs AR in September...John Golden will be at that rally.  He's a magician with the PCIII from what I've heard.  Maybe the best in the country.

TC, John is Rolling Thunder Dyno, and youve heard correctly John is a magician, His tunes seem to win quite a few Dyno comps... I thought Kona would be a little more excited about an excuse to have to go to Sturgis...
