Luckily passed the kidney stone at 4:30 this morning so, I waited until the good drugs wore off and drove up to check on Gertie. She is far from finished but at least she has started back getting dressed. Here are a few pictures I snapped today, quality is not too good because I only had my cell phone cam.
Oh, also  Chip (Siver-Black) got the PCIII and found CD w/ all the paperwork. I will send it to you Tuesday when I get back to the office.

Can't believe what a difference the new pipes make. There is a whole area exposed I never saw before.

Wow Mark, I was gone for just over a week and never dreamed the banana would still be on someone's lift.  Hope the final result is everything you are hoping for.  Also glad mine can get worked on at home.....

We know they can get 'em done fairly quick when they need to.  I think they started on mine on a Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning and were done with the cams, oil pump, lifters, etc. plus a dyno tune and 15,000 mile service by Friday afternoon (thanks in no small part to JR keeping track of things).  This included about 48 hours down time waiting on a new rear cylinder head to be air freighted in after porosity was found.

Myself, I can't wait for Mark to get his bike back, but if there's no timetable the bike needs to be done in (unlike when mine was there), I can see them doing it at their pace.  When I had the Brembos installed last winter this time, I think the shop here had the bike for over two weeks under similar circumstances.  It's probably a job that could've been done in less than a day but I was in no hurry whatsoever for the bike at the time.

You guys are certainly right that the most important thing is doing it right. In Mark's case I'd also be much less concerned than might be the case otherwise because he's had the conversation with them; he and they know that doing other tasks first has been ok.

Short of that, however, such extended service times always make me nervous.  The longer it's in a work environment the great is the chance something might get dinged (or worse).  And that doens't even include worrying about what someone screwed up that is now taking so long to fix or what they are trying to jury rig to fix a problem that was unforeseen or created.

MJ, just glad you finally get to be General Westmoreland at this point and see light at the end of the tunnel.  The banana should be sweet when it's buttoned up.  Enjoy getting her back and ride safe!!

No worries though !!  I had a dream about bananas last night.  They were all beautiful, perfect and fast.  And the leader of the pack had a little flag on it that read "Worked on at Bumpus!".

Alright!!! Gertie is in the dyno booth. Brian said he'd call me with the numbers this afternoon, I'm as excited as a 13 year old with his first playboy foldout. Maybe Gertie will be my Ms December. ( let's see, turn-ons: she likes long rides by the ocean, trips in the mountains during the colorful fall, chilling with good friends at the watering hole and most important, praying for world peace.)
Should be ready to pick up Friday or Saturday. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
