Yellowbird....I ordered the 2.5 cores...just to give them a listen.
I'll report back how they sound compared to my 2.25 SD cores

easy enough to change back and forth

I'm getting a new CVO Limited in a couple of weeks (blue), and going on a long ride with a bunch of buds, right off the get go. I've ordered the Fullsac head  ;Dpipe, but the shop does not install the baffles.  Besides a tuner, I was just going to go with the stock mufflers for now, and maybe get the baffles at a later time.  Anyone else just used Fullsac head pipes with stock mufflers, and if so, how is the sound?

with the stock mufflers it won't be loud at all ..you won't notice much of a difference from stock in sound anyway

What advantage does Fullsac have over the V&H X-Pipe? Do I understand correctly that the cores mentioned in the different sizes go into the stock mufflers? Would the 2.0 sound much more than the stock system?

One last comment about sound. I am over the loud touring ideology. I like my CVO Fatbob nice and loud with the Propipe but all that glorious sound becomes annoying noise for me after a day or two. JMHO. BTW my hearing is already poor I can't afford to hear the wife any less. :D

My 2009 SG was delivered with the 96 upgraded to a 103 with 255 cams. The 2009 pipes did not have a cat and I was told they were a good headpipe when combined with good mufflers. My first upgrade was to take off the cat mufflers and send the original stock 96 mufflers to Steve for 2" cores and got a TTS. The sound was pleasing to me and she ran great after lots of experiments using a TTS.

I got a bug up my ^&% to try his X-pipes, so I ordered what I think was his fourth version. They were coated inside and out and replaced the HD headpipe perfectly using the HD chrome covers. All I can say was WOW. It felt, sounded, and ran better even before I retuned with TTS. To me the 255 cams seemed to run great, unlike many complaints I have heard on multiple boards. However, I am on my third Compensator with less than 30,000 miles. I HATE that kickback on startup when the comps begin to fail. Four words; 255s = TOO MUCH CRANKING COMPRESSION.

With that in mind, I took the bike to Steve and he swapped out those 255s for Andrews 54s. Since I came in the shop with a hot motor just off the highway he ran some baseline dynos. I just was amazed that my home grown attempts at tuning were producing over 105 ft lbs Torque. Patting myself on back now...

The 54s and a 30 thou. head gasket swap produced 102 HP and 112 TQ. Not too shabby for a 103 with stock 96 heads. To me the sound is just right, I can still hear the music and wont be getting stopped for noise level. Sounds great and feels great, Love the Fulsac combo.

Good read. Still have the D xpipe in a box along with the 2.0 cores. Not wanting loud but a deep rumble would be great. I still think the 2.0 will be a good baffle but will have to wait again to install. Back in Afghanistan again for a year or 2. Cheers.

Awwww Jay you live too far from Charlotte NC.
I was going to offer that if you had Steve (Fullsac) send your 2.0 baffles to me and you stopped by I would change them out for you.
I bet I have done 30 sets so I got it down to a science. You would be in and out in less than an hour.
Oh well, maybe some day if your ever down this way. I also conduct Royal Blue Waxon/Waxoff lessons while you wait.
