loud and good pipes???
« on: May 19, 2014, 12:04:29 PM »

hey folks, I have the "vance & hines monster oval" and I'm not satisfied ... the exhaust is definitely me too quiet. Does anyone have a recommendation for brutal sound? Perhaps even with image...?

Please help - thank you!

(I know some like it soft and other loud  ;))

if you're going after sound similar to your bigshots why not just put V&H 2-2 Big Radius on your FL?

D&D Fatcat or Drago Dragula 2 into 1's.  Definitely loud with great performance.

I got the D&D Fatcat  2 into 1 and love the sound. All my riding buddies agree also... :2vrolijk_21:

I love the snarling sound of Honey Badgers' Drago's Dragula 2-1. It's only a touch less loud than a Fat Cat or Thunderheader... but it's plenty loud and has a deep, angry-sounding tone.

When I was researching pipes on you tube about the loudest I heard was cfr's. So loud I decided to go with Vance & Hines

Also, removing the catalytic converter will give it more depth

CFR's cannot be beat for the deep loud sound.  You must tune your bike when you first get them.

Everyone has an opinion on this. You need to decide for yourself by listening to various exhausts notes and finding one you need. It's like oil and seats, everyone has a different opinion on it.

I just installed a Fat Cat on my CUSE5 last week... And I'm ready to pull it off just as soon as my next pipe arrives next week.
I find the Fat Cat just too darned loud.
I'm gonna try the Drago next.

I used to run a fatcat pulled it for lack of quality kept discoloring. I had one on my 09 with the loud baffle WOWZERS lol. I had the quiet baffle on this one. The Drago is a bit more tame and a totally different sound.

This.

It's amazing how two people can hear the same exhaust and have completely different opinions of the sound.
