Day Ten | Sydney, Nova Scotia – Dingwall, Nova Scotia | 150 miles

Sydney is a harbor town on Cape Breton Island and this morning I would spend some time on the waterfront.

By the water, the Big Fiddle is a huge violin statue honoring local music.

[Jock]

Got hemp?

After an enjoyable lunch it was time to hit the Cabot Trail!

[Jock]

My first stop would be the same as last time – Keltic Lodge.

[Jock]

The classic Keltic Lodge, which was opened in 1951, is a throwback to the era of railroad hotels present in other National Parks.

[Jock]

The pool even has a “view”

[Jock]

With vistas such as this one…

[Jock]

You could sit back and enjoy the view for hours.

[Jock]

Unfortunately that would not be the case today, instead it would be an early dinner and off we go.  The weather was comin’ in and the radar did not look good.

[Jock]

For the remainder of the day, we would be runnin’ from the heavy rain, hail and cold winds.  But that did not deter us from taking in some wonderful views along the way.

After all, how can you not pull over…

Time and time, it never disappointed

Soon we would make it to Neil’s Harbour, Nova Scotia but this time, there would be no ice cream!  DAMN!

That front was on our azz and for now, it was lighter than it could be but that would be changing QUICK!
