Signal Hill is a hill which overlooks the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Not to mention lighthouses and icebergs.

Cabot Tower is a tower situated on Signal Hill. Construction of the tower begun in 1898 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's discovery of Newfoundland, and Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.

The wind on Signal Hill was very strong today.   

[Jock]

Due to its strategic placement overlooking the harbour, fortifications have been placed on the hill since the mid 17th century.

Wow, great trip and photos. I want to ride next year but will need to limit my time in the US. Thinking of going north to B.C. then across on Hiway 1 to N.S. and N.F. and visit friends there. Hopes are to drop down at Regina to Sturgis and then back north afterwards. Hopefully Canada is considered a "foreign" country according to passport stamps. Have you made any trips cross country Canada? I'll work on a separate thread as time gets closer to see who has made the trip and things to see.

This trail was originally known as Ladies Lookout. Beginning at the top parking lot, it will take the visitor to Cuckold's Cove Lookout or they can loop around the summit and return to the parking area.
