I just had trouble doing map updates (2015.10), with Garmin Express and had an error message. When I called Garmin Support, I found out that they don't support anything larger than an 8GB memory card. They had me pull my 16GB and everything wired fine. I'm sure some software 'enhancement' caused the issue but just wanted to pass the info along.  I had been using the 16 for quite some tome with no issues.

I had the same experience. As soon as the update was complete I put my 16 gb SD card back in and all worked well.

Available here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5067   Hasn't been updated in a while.  Will install happily on a non-Roadtech Zumo.

Will this file also work with the zumo 665?

If you have a Non-Roadtech Zumo you better off checking the Zumo Forum Downloads and download/install the Harley-Davidson dealer POI's from there... they are updated more frequently/recently then those Garmin (MoCo) provide.

My Roadtech Zumo 660 is almost 90% full.

I don't have any audio, pics, etc., just maps of the USA & Canada.

I've deleted all the foreign languages, icons, etc. that I know I'll never use.

How do I get more storage?

Thanks

Yes, that's the big problem with the 660 - it's been impossible to get the whole of Europe on it for a couple of years.  You need to fit a microSD card to it (slot in under the battery) and install the maps to that.

What size/brand SD card do you recommend?

Thanks

Any brand is likely to be fine.  Don't worry about looking for a fast one, the card speed doesn't seem to make any difference at all.  I think I had an 8GB one in mine.

Hmmm, same problem except I have an 8mb micro sd card.  Garmin tech support didn't even ask me about the size just asked if I had an sd card installed and if so to pull it.  Update worked fine then.

So if you are out of internal memory I guess you cannot install the map update to an sd card?  I imagine Garmin will (eventually) fix this 'glitch' in the update software.  When Garmin Express first came out it was a real pos.  This stuff ain't rocket science.  I don't understand why Garmin can't get their chit together about simple things like map updates.

I know what you mean Jerry, like you said, they've improved Express since it first came out so hopefully they'll get this fixed soon. I've never liked Garmin desktop software very much. I thought MapSource was terrible and I don't like BaseCamp very much either.

Never thought I'd say it but I am warming up to BaseCamp.  Like Express they have made some nice improvements in BaseCamp but there are still some thinks about MapSource I like better but I am using BaseCamp more and more.

BaseCamp is not bad, I still haven't figured out how to drag routes like we used to with MapSource.

Had this same problem with my 660....removed the 4 GB memory card, then Garmin Express loaded map 2015.10
However, My 665 loaded the map just fine with 8GB memory card in the unit.

Might just be an issue with 660 :nixweiss:
