Myrtle Beach---The Rally after the Rally
« on: May 25, 2014, 08:53:06 AM »

 :nervous:
Well,  the Spring M.B. Rally went off pretty well and continues to grow again.  Meanwhile,  as always the B.Bike Rally takes place over Memorial Day weekend and they are off to another "action packed" start again with a guy having his bike stolen right from under him while stopped at a light.  Taken at gunpoint and then wrecked as the cops were chasing the thieves (bike destroyed).

Now,  (so far)........3 are dead and two injured in shootings along Ocean Blvd.

The Second Rally this year is why the residence wanted to get ride of the traditional one, so they could get rid of this troublesome one.

As of last nights news, 6 shootings with 5 deaths and one stabbing death.
Seems a couple of gangs involved. Not necessarily motorcycle gangs.

I would agree that (motorcycle "gangs") were likely not involved.  But I would go so far as to say........you can almost guarantee that (those involved) in the shootings, stabbings, whatever...........were in town because of the B. Bike event.

It is quite amusing that (Atlantic Beach)  "home base" for the B. Bike Rally is attempting to "disavow" any connection with these problems. :-\

Atlantic Beach is about a 4 block long section that goes from Rt. 17 down to the beach.  That limited area cannot support all the housing needs and venues required for the masses that arrive for the event.  The huge "spillover" of those folks are known to congregate down in main Myrtle Beach along Ocean Drive in the exact vicinity of where those stabbings/shootings occurred. :nixweiss:

Yep.  All you have to do is look, nothing major happens during the Harley Bike week.  No major violence, sure a few fights.  However B Bike week has all kinds of violence, Killings and so on.

Can't blame businesses for not wanting to put up with people acting like that.

Ole saying is "one bad apple ruins the whole bunch".
I saw 2 large groups of about 100 bikes of 1%ers while there. It could only take a few words between the two to start a big news event. Then the Harley Bike Week would be given the bad rap instead of the other.

Well,  in todays paper,  the Gov. of So. Carolina has stated that she wants the Atlantic Beach Rally stopped. (discontinued).

Of course the mayor of Atlantic Beach is claiming the shootings in (main) Myrtle Beach were not a reflection on  their (A.B. Rally event)

So, there is now a whole years worth of time to see how the whole deal gets prepped and handled for the Spring of next year.........meantime,  here is a site for the event.
