This is Misty, Deb & Molly at Goldstock 2006 http://www.goldstock2006.org/
Molly is a rescue, 5 homes in the first 11 months of her life, we have had her now for 14 months, going on forever ....

We do Golden Retriever Rescue (http://www.grrinj.org/) and every year all the rescue groups get together for one giant rescue weekend (4 day Labor Day Weekend event), 400 plus dogs with the majority being Golden's all getting together. It is crazy. This is open to anyone.

This year the highlight was musician Tom Corwin reading - promoting his book "Mostly Bob" http://www.mostlybob.com/
That is our Molly resting her head on our Misty at the top of the picture on the Mostly Bob page. This was taken during a publicity photo shoot, trying for as many Golden's with the author as possible. We have one picture with 32 Golden's and no people, quite the feat.

A very touching story of how "change and the power of unconditional love" between man and canine.
If you love animals, especially dogs get this. You'll read this book in a very short time and remember it forever.

This is Carrie, we rescued her at approximately age 7. She was a "forced" surrender. She was being used just as a puppy machine and spent most of her life life in a crate or otherwise confined.

We had her certified as a therapy dog and and her favorite job was kids reading to her at the library.
She could melt anyone's heart.

We had her for 17 wonderful months before we lost her to cancer.

Gungy, our "NO" cat.

I said no and he showed up anyway, came from a "divorce" issue and was being abused.

Navy slang there, anyone get it?

This our knucklehead Blue & Gold macaw, Cagney.
Our first Golden was named Lacey. We thought it would be cute to have "Cagney & Lacey", remember the TV show?

Anyway, bad combo for pet names, Lacey lived to be 11 1/2, and Cagney is expected to live from 75-100 years ........ We can't say Cagney without remembering Lacey.

Porthole, you have some BEAUTIFUL pets!!

I have a friend that rescues animals also.  I think she's up to 8 dogs and about 20 cats.  She's always trying to find homes for them but keeps them herself if she can't find a good home.  Lot's of times they are old and/or sick.  Seems like too many times when they are rescued they have disease and don't make it too long in a "good" environment and that's too bad.   :(

Anyway, your group is cool!   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
