Do pets go to Heaven

Why shouldn't they?  [highlight]Who are we to say that heaven is only reserved for humans?  Isn't the almightly all caring? Aren't we all God's creation?  I think it's a little arrogant on our part if we feel that the only way to get to heaven is to be human.[/highlight]  Our pet's love for us is unconditional.  They don't care if we are fat, ugly, rich, poor, or whatever.  If anything they are the pure form of goodness, so they should actually have more rights to heaven than us.  Like stated previously.  Our pets are not just animals running around the house.  They are our babies and we treat them like they are our children.  Do pets go to heaven?  [smiley=angel.gif] Why not?  I think they do.  JMHO.

First off Red, I never said heaven is reserved for just humans. God's plan of salvation IS! Personally I believe animals will be in heaven. But it dosen't matter what I think, it only matters what God thinks! The only way we can know what God thinks is to look at his word, the bible. We are all God's creation but not all of God's creation will be in Heaven! My children are my babies and my love is far greater for them over any pet I ever owned. Maybe that's why Jesus came to save Mandkind from his sins. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

First off Red, I never said heaven is reserved for just humans. God's plan of salvation IS! Personally I believe animals will be in heaven. But it dosen't matter what I think, it only matters what God thinks! The only way we can know what God thinks is to look at his word, the bible. We are all God's creation but not all of God's creation will be in Heaven! My children are my babies and my love is far greater for them over any pet I ever owned. Maybe that's why Jesus came to save Mandkind from his sins. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Agree with you 100% John.  No question about my love for my bipedal kids far exceeding my love for my quadpedal kidz, but the fact remains.........I do love those Boxers, and when I die, I believe we'll go to heaven together.

Most of you have probably seen this, but I think it is fitting for these past few threads...I know my buddy, Sunny, is waiting for me...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Terry,  I was gonna alude to that in my post earlier today.......but every time I think of that piece I get that friggin' lump in my throat.  When Sassy passed away, we received numerous sympathy cards with with the Rainbow Bridge story on them.  Anyway, if I die right now, two Boxers and a Beagle are  going to cross the Rainbow Bridge with me.  God Bless 'em.
