Add mine to the ticking list.
It's stock with under 200 miles.
Between 2200-2800 RPM.
GMR Genesis 577/ lifters on order.
Axtell bypass valve kit will also be installed.

New 2014 110" here, 40 miles on it, ticky, mostly at 2800-3200 rpm. S&S lifters and adjustable push rods going in next week, along with 24D's. Will report back.

4.5 turns on that pushrod(32 TPI) is what we've found to work well.

Generic - But why buy the best only to have to "dump" money into a "noise abatement solution"?  I have concern when I see a 2014 CVO requires cams, lifter, pushrods to minimize noise.  Just saying.

Because that's what Harley riders have always done.  Pay too much for the bike up front, then spend a couple grand to make it run right (the Harley tax), then spend some more to fix things like lousy suspensions, and these days also spend another pile to fix noises and try to forestall failures with things like lifters by changing them out at 10k miles.  If this is the "best", I'd hate to see what anyone considers the "worst".

All this extra expense is fine as long as you keep the bike for ever. Isn't that the idea of owning a Harley. Buy it once, make it yours with $$, and keep it forever.  That's what I am going to do with my 2010.

When the stock valve springs go away so does the noise for the most part assuming the piston fit is proper. The SE255 is not a lazy ramp cam by any means but many of the aftermarket cams out there including some of Andrews native and grinds for other companies have fairly stout rams as well. Lifter preload, rocker side clearance, pin to lifter clearance and such things are just nuances, not the root cause nor the ultimate fix. Oil is another red herring but when a 20-50 with a high VI is used that is my choice then get to the root cause. Sure put some 60w in there and it gets quieter but that is a band aide.

I too own a CVO and it is noisy. No time to mess with it. First bike I have ever owned that will get ESP and I will play the dealer game.
Saw the Indians yesterday was afraid to test ride one for fear it would put my CVO to shame in the quality dept. The motor was quiet.

If Indian ever makes a bike that isn't ugly or even victory then Harley may lose a customer in me but until then it's HD for me.

I don't know Jesse, there comes a time when looks alone don't cut it anymore.  Even supermodels eventually have to do something besides stand around looking good.

Thanks Jerry.  Now I know what to expect.  I completely understand the love/hate relationship you mention.  Got on my 2013 EG today with a bad new motor less than 20 miles, rolled the throttle back and forth, hell forget about everything she ever cost me until next time....
