Recreating a " Stock.MTE" calibration file using TTS ?
« on: June 01, 2014, 07:25:46 AM »

Long story discussed in other posts ( sorry )

Good friend of mine has a 2011 Streetglide , on a TTS since new

Original "Stock .MTE " file lost in the death of a laptop ( his laptop not mine )

I have reflashed his ECM a number of times , 255 cams etc etc over the years

We " needed " his stock MTE file just recently to effect a 120R engine transplant and the use of a Supertuner

Can anyone tell me how to " recreate " an MTE File ? Indeed, can that be done ?

We have since very successfully reflashed the bike using his TTS with a " 120R .MT7 " file supplied by a forum member

It would still be good for the future to have the ability to " re-make " "Stock.MTE " files if possible

The ONLY way to truely get a stock calibration is to have it installed at a HD dealership with DT. HD did not make all bikes the same, so one must use there database at HD to look-up and install the complete stock calibration for the bike in question. That said we can create for any customer something that is close to it but we will not say it is stock for that bike. We call this an E-unlock file. For those of you that do not know it, several years ago we created FREE Internet storage of your calibrations just so you would not lose them!

Place your files on this site and you can retrieve them, any time, any where!

Thanks Steve mate.

One part or section of the sad story I missed , is that we did try running the bike with an 1856 CVO high output cal.

We were only 10 K's from the HD dealer and we ran the bike there and hooked up the "Digitech"

Gave the same screen message as at home on the laptop , (can't remember the exact wording), but it was a "failure to proceed"

Apparently the Digitech "said NO" and they were not game to try any further or harder. So no dealer reflash to stock.

I have since reflashed the bike quite succesfully using TTS "120R .MT7" cals emailed to me by a forum member in the US

The bike is running really well now , so there's no " disaster " , but it would still be good to have a "Vin.Stock.MTE" for the bike

Or the "E-Unlock.MTE" file you mentioned ? How would we get that ? Can we " make " that ourselves ?

Just take what you have in the bike right now and save it as an MTE file with the save function. Then Email me that file and I can send you the E-unlock file back.

Steve mate , I emailed that saved cal to your " other" TTS email address.

I was not sure I could send an attachment as a PM ?

Thanks for your invaluable help

The ONLY way to truely get a stock calibration is to have it installed at a HD dealership with DT.

yes , we tried that , and the dealer was not game to try harder after the "first refusal"

I have read on other posts ( and other forums ) that the dealer can overide a TTS locked ECM if they " ignore " the refusal and press onwards somehow. Being the HD dealer i did not get to look over the sholder of the tech who had hooked up the bike to the dealer Digitech ( DT )

So I'm no further forward with an Vin.Stock.MTE or any E-Unlock.MTE

Any clues or hints out there ?

To restate , the bike is running well on TTS with good fuel consumption , 60 MPG ( UK Imperial gallon !) on an out of town run

Did you get the unlock file we sent to you? If so install that when your down the street from the dealership then ride it in and have them put a stock flash in the bike. DT will do it with no questions asked once the unlock file has been installed.

Loaded the E-Unlock cal from Steve Cole at TTS on Saturday afternoon , worked as planned.

Then loaded a SEPST 120R cal from the "new" SEPST , then used his previous TTS to save this as a "stock" cal as a Vin.MTE

No need for a dealer " stock re-flash " thankfully. Saved a journey to the dealer AND the hassle of explaining anything to them.

Then we reloaded the TTS MT7 cal that I had received from another US CVO forum member and the bike is running well with good fuel consumption. 400K's plus per tank. He'll do an actual MPG calculation next weekend.

He did 250 K's today so that's a good test.

Thanks so much to Steve Cole of TTS for his help on this , most appreciated

Steve Cole of TTS really came thru' for me and my mate with the 2011 Streetglide

Why would you use anything other than TTS after that kind of service I ask you !

All the best from winter Perth Western Australia

Thanks Hilly mate.

In reality we were stoked.

Thanks for forums mate....I know like me you're on the Aussie forum(s) but the US was the place to get all this info.
