Stock CVO Dyno
« on: June 05, 2014, 10:10:00 PM »

I'm picking my bike up Saturday morning after having the S&S head pipe installed combined with 4" Rinehart mufflers then Dyno tuned. Mostly out of curiousity, what would be typical horsepower and torque values to expect from the tune? No other modifications have been done to the CVO motor at this time.

I had V&H Power Duals and Twin Slash Rounds and a SEPST installed when it was new, before I picked it up. It was "tuned" and tested at 84.65 HP and 104.87 TQ, with no other modifications. Don't know how your different exhaust will affect things but I'd guess you'll be somewhere in this neighborhood.

On my '12, with Bassani 2>1 pipe and sub optimal Cobra "auto" tuner,  92 hp and 103 tq.

Funny, but I don't care to even know the numbers on my new bike.  I decided that, for myself, knowing the actual numbers is irrelevant.  I realized I didn't use the info for anything purposeful or to modify my style.

On an average I see 90 to 95hp and 114 to 116 tq with a good pipe and good tune.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm pretty pleased with the result all things considered. I'm sure a cam change will happen this winter, but for now she runs well.

I bought the Fullsac 2" baffles and their TTS Mastertune canned map they did on probably dozens of the '09 SERG's when they cam out.  My '09 SERG runs great with their parts and tune.  It gets great mpg and doesn't pop on decal or gear shifts.

I'm VERY happy with what I have and I'm guessing from the old threads that they posted that I'm in the 90 to 92 hp range.

But other than the valve train rattles I have always had, I don't need anymore power or speed.  I can crank it on at 50 mph in 6th gear without lugging, albeit I'm not twisting to WOT to do it, but just going a bit faster to speed up.  I've had others ride along with me on other CVO's a few years ago and they couldn't do that without some serious lugging.  I'm often too lazy to downshift, but accelerating moderately up in 6th is not an issue.

I agree that numbers really don't mean much unless you're looking for improvements and you need a number baseline to gauge your improvements.  If your butt's happy, what more can you want?

I think I am going to do the S&S lifters and adjustable push rods to try to get a bit of the noise out of the top end.  At 13k miles it's a good preventative thing to do.

Exactly, wife and I rode for a few hours yesterday and I'm happy.    :2vrolijk_21:

As for the other, I'm going the same route this winter probably be at about 16K for me though as I'm at 13K now.

without getting crazy, bump up the compression a bit (10.0-1) and get a set of S&S .570`s or Andrews 54`s and you`ll see a very nice change

Is the S&S .570 or Andrews 54 a mid-range cam?

Haven't wanted to replace the stock cam yet until i'm very certain which cam to buy. We ride 2-up almost always so I'm not looking for a speed demon just ability to pull a heavily loaded down bike when we travel.

I got 98.3 HP and  108.3 TQ on my 2014 CVO limited after installing the Full Sac X pipe, TSS tuner. I left the mufflers stock.
I'm used to more, my 09 CVO had 113 and 124 but the valve train noise got a little old with the Woods 7H cams. It's nice to have a quiet bike for a change
