Potential New CVO owner
« on: June 06, 2014, 11:49:19 AM »

Good Afternoon All,

I currently own a 2007 Street Glide with 16k miles and came across a deal for a 2010 FLHTCUSE5 and am seriously considering it. $24,000 with 16k miles. I've tried to get trade in value on both bikes but the NADA site only gives retail.

Anyone have any thoughts on the bike or any info related to the trade in value.

I'm 5'8" and stand flatfooted on the SG. the new one is a little taller but I think It'll be fine. I'm looking forward to Sturgis next year and trying to talk the girlfriend to joining . I've never ridden 2 up and am a little concerned about the extra weight of the bike plus the passenger, but I figure I'll learn.

anyway...happy to be considering a CVO and thanks in advance for any input

Welcome aboard.  I'm only 5'8" and my CVO streetglide is perfect, I added a color matched quick removable tour-pak.  I tried the CVO Ultra but found it a little tall in the saddle for me when backing up to park, especially on uneven ground at a restaurant or other place when out and about.  You can lower the Ultra and also change the seat but for me I elected to go the other route and get the SESG (lowered from factory) and just add the tour-pak....I wanted a quick detach tour-pak anyway.

Welcome to the site. Adding 200+ lbs of bike & a BSR at same time.......practice before you take off on a long trip.

If you ride two up and want the comfort, it is hard to find fault with the Ultra.  The new frame is a major plus.  Have you ridden the 2010?  That is the first place to start to see if you even like it.  Changing out the suspension to lower it or a cut down seat are always options.  The tour pak can always be set up as a detachable.  Good luck with whatever you chose to do.

Welcome to the site from The Lowcountry of South Carolina!
This may be of interest to you.
Attending a GTG is the best way to get to know the members and put a face to those screen names. Many a lasting friendship have come out of these GTG's,
So. if you want to meet people, ride some awesome roads, kick back and have fun, come to one or all of the GTG's. ( For the newbies out there, GTG = Get Together )
Make your plans now and avoid the rush. In other words, stop pondering and get a hankering and make reservations and attend.
See ya'll there.
The GTG's are in the event section of the board.

The 2010 FLTCUSE5 is quite possibly the very finest CVO....ever made.

Nope.

No bias here.
