I ride because I love it, my wife loves it and we both share that passion together and what better way to meet good people and see great sites.

Have met good people from this site.  Some very good who have become very good friends.  Even a couple of brothers.  As the site and the events got bigger that got harder to do; at least for me.  Just too many bodies.  But, again, that's just me.

It's not unlike the big rally events though.  Haven't done Daytona or Liconia or Sturgis in years.  Too much BS of a type I don't have patience for.  Too much stupid chaos (not all chaos is bad--but the rallies sure can be a mess).  None of it matches just being on the the road or sharing it with a few friends or brothers.

In other words I get where Brian is coming from.  It's all my personal take on life, the universe and everything (proper citation to a dead Englishman).  So anyone else can see and feel it all differently.  That's their deal and I care as little about it as they should about mine.  If someone wants to make a big deal about the difference; well, f$%* 'em.  I'm not playing along.

But I get where Brian is coming from.

That's probably why when I tick off the really good friends or brothers I've so luckily gained from hanging around our little website here BB is among them.

And me too. I know the big guy would take a bullet for me and I can't say that about many people.

Come on now Spiderman, after all these years of attending Laconia you should know as well as me that Weirs is last place to go if you don't want to see every person who goes to bike week to be seen and for no other reason. We go down there for the afternoon, park and walk around looking at all the different outfits some of these people wear and the way they "decorate" their bikes-- just to draw attention to themselves. We enjoy the "show" for a while, have some lunch and then we go for a ride. After that customary visit to the Weirs we stay away from that whole mess and spend the rest of our time riding around the lake, riding the Kancamagus Hwy or maybe up to Clarks trading post for the bear shows.

I seriously hope that the "posers" didn't dampen your enjoyment of the fine weather and the ride.

Mostly I was trolling for trouble, but there was a bit of me that remembers being a newbie way back in 69 or so and paying my dues. Minding my own business, not being a loudmouth asshole and so on and so on and doobie doobie doobie. The "sport" if you will cannot survive without new riders/owners. I get that. I was one once. And normally I don't GAS who does what. It's just that this was the 1st time I could recall where all of the newbies seemed to have bought a "How to be a Biker" handbook or something. No big deal really, just like I said, I hadn't posted in a long while, missed stirring up chit and seeing who'd rise to the bait. I'd say I was sorry or something but after nine years off and on this website, I figure either you know that I'm an asshole or you don't and why waste your time telling me either way. LOL

So then what is a biker?  Probably different meaning to different people.

This is my definition and in no way meant to piss anyone off.

Rides at least 15k in a year.

Never ever trailer his/her MC (only if it breaks down)

Brand of MC does not matter

Damn, thanks for telling me I'm not a biker.  I was sure I was until I read that definition.  I am not pissed, just enlightened.  Maybe you will meet me in MV this September to show me how a real biker rides.  Apparently, I've been doing it all wrong. ::)

That 500 miles per week when my bike isn't in winter storage is a deal breaker. I wish I could be a real biker.

As long as I don't get the blame for this one I'm ok.
 ;)
Actually, I always thought you were Brian,  :nervous: can you feel my devastation from this revelation.
I should just get on my likker sicle and ride to the Honda shop and get me a Goldwing.

No doubt

This is my definition and in no way meant to piss anyone off.

Kicking the hornets nest not included.

Rides at least 15k in a year.

Leaves me out. But what about when I was younger, didn't have kids, didn't have any real world issues to deal with, do I get a rebate?
Doesn't traveling with a bedroll at one time count?

Never ever trailer his/her MC (only if it breaks down)

If I was a real biker - I would never trailer my bike - I would push it to the dealer.  :huepfenjump3:

Actually, on second thought, I would fix it myself.

I suppose if we think along these lines, if you can't run a rotary wing you are not really a pilot.

Brand of MC does not matter

I guess that is easy enough to figure out why.
