2014 CVO Limited---Key stuck -N- Tour Pak

Does anybody know how to retrieve my Key, I tried using remote key fob and it would not lock tour pak, so when I put key in to lock it tripped the lever out and locked it but not can not get key removed, I was able to home and get another set of keys to unlock front end, and drive it home, but all of my keys to the office, home, other bikes, dune buggy and all are stuck in the tour pak

Is there any way to by-pass

X2  The latch handle is not down all the way and caused the problem?

That was way Too Funny, took it over to the Stealership yesterday afternoon about an hour before they closed, they brought her into the back and It was 5 mechanics trying to figure out the key and then an hour went by but they did get it out, they told me the lock was too dry...

Somehow I doubt your key was stuck in the tourpak lock because the lock was to dry...  I'm going to guess the lock is defective and you're going to find yourself in the same situation again at some time...  But I could be wrong, 5 expert technicians can't all have diagnosed your dilemma incorrectly, right?   :nixweiss:

Did you have these same idiots do the 1k or 5k service by chance?  If so, ask them why the lock was "dry" when they charged you to lubricate all the locks and hinges at each service.

In case you don't realize it, they were lying about the cause of the problem.  If they didn't fix the real cause, be prepared for a repeat in the near future.  I'd suggest taking anything important out of the TP and then trying the key repeatedly.  Oh, btw, what about the fact the central locking system wouldn't unlock the TP.  Was that also caused by a dry lock cylinder according to these rocket scientists?

I'll give you the same advice I've given some others who have dealerships full of incompetents and liars; find yourself another dealership to work on the bike.

Look on page 5 of your owners manual.  Its plainly says that if your not wearing a shirt, shoes, and long pants that your key will get stuck in the tour-pak.

If you're confused.....see "Seat Height" thread.     :P

I am understanding that everbody on here has had a lot of the same experiences that I have had @ the STEALERSHIPS...

It is sad to say that there is a Nation Wide Epidemic of Un-Skilled Mechanics working on our bikes, the same also goes for Sales, and Parts...

About the only thing that I have seen good come out of the Stealerships is new bolt on Items and only 50% of the time that has been to a point I did not have to re-do it myself...

I'm with Jerry, their explanation is a joke.  Run away from them and find a dealer with decent mechanics.

Well we've all herd this before,...you get what you pay for.
                   Mechanic get paid squat.
It all depends on how much the mechanic takes pride in his/her trade. :nixweiss:

I hear what you are saying but if I am in their shoes knocking down about 30k a year I just don't care too much what kind of issues you are having. There are some guys out there that take pride regardless of pay but they are far and few between!
