I hear yah. The CVO is of course limited compared to the rest of the HD fleet.

Never taken the wrong bike but once I was able to unlock and start the wrong car. Mine was two spaces down with a van in between. It was a 1980s something Saab 9000.
Lmao. That would be interesting.

I quickly drove back, parked it, waited 10 minutes to see if the owner showed up, then I left in My car.

Should have backed it into the parking spot instead of pulling it in,,, or vice versa.  ::)

I used to almost sit on other peoples bikes thinking they were mine. Yes there are plenty of CVO's out there but in the 2 years I have owned mine I have never mistaken someone else's for mine.

I did that years ago at a CVO GTG at the York plant. Don't remember whose bike, but he stood there watching me and laughing.

Here is a good one, my wife came out of a shopping center and got into the wrong pickup with the guy sitting there. Same exact truck as ours. She said he's eyes were really big. Yea, she was a bit embarrassed.
I've never went to the wrong bike but seen a few ladies that I wouldn't mind getting on the back. :D

Apparently the CVO is no longer special.
I guess that's what happens when the average touring bike is now almost 30k,
not such a big lap to a 35k cvo.

Math check advised.
There's still more difference than that as the CVO is about a 10K premium on a RK and 14K premium on a limited.
I WISH it were 5K.

They're not exclusive, of course. My 2010 CUSE5 (scarlet/graphite) is one of <400 in the lower 48 (according to HD). It was bought new (and garaged) in Austin. When I brought it home last year to my small town of Longview (TX) I was surprised to learn there was one here already. He had it all to himself for three years, though. In my year of having it I have ridden thru 18 states logging about 15,000 miles*.  I've seen only two others in person, one in Arkansas and another somewhere along the Yellowstone trip.

I'm the only one in town with a 12 CVO in Ruby red. There are 2 others one is citrus the other is diamond. I've seen another ruby red twice in the whole state.

This is my 2nd CVO and both times there are few few of these around. I know they are out there but only a few in one area and overall a lot less than others. I only saw one like my other CVO (2010 Convertible). I got the first blue CVO limited at our dealer and they got one from another location for a person that saw mine and loved it so much he had to have one. So I know there are two here. All in all expensive but great. Just like any other Harley (or any bike) There are many others made just like yours but you make your bike yours!

I stand corrected, I should have wrote that differently, when I was looking at the Street glide and the things I was going to add to it (pushing 26k), it was cheaper for me to go with the CVO Road King. I got the added bonus of a chromed front end and a 110ci along with other things for only 1k more than I was going to spend on the street glide. I did get a great deal on my CVO, way under msrp.
I don't see to many CVOs out riding but I know the local dealer is a high volume dealer and they do move a lot of CVOs out of there, I guess most are garage Queens here.
Point being the CVO had become less exclusive, if they'd make fewer each year they'd bounce back in resale value.

I don't know that I'd consider that a bonus!!

I wasn't there either.

I pull up to a 2014 CVO Limited in the silver and autumn sunset just like mine and all I could say was '" really like your bike". :D

When I pull up to the local Mexican restaurant on of the guys came out admiring the bike. HE asked me what i paid for it and I was to ashamed to tell him. Just said dinero por el culo. $ out the azz If you can afford that much for a toy you ain't no po boy.

The price variance is staggering.  I normally sell my own cars/trucks/bikes and then do my own deal on whatever new.  As I think I have mentioned before here,  this last time I did the "trade in" deal.   I traded in my '09 SE Ultra Classic 110 on a 2014 Street Glide Special for basically $3000.   That included a V&H set of pipes with Rinehart 4" mufflers, a SE Air cleaner and the SE Tuner.  Also the windshield of my choice and matching grips/highway pegs/ passenger pegs and the receiver for the GDO and the LED headlite from my '09 Ultra (since the new bike did NOT come with the LED).

All things considered,  I didn't think it was such a bad deal.

I'm happier by far with another Tour model that is around 150 pounds lighter but feels much lighter than the Ultra by much more than that.  I've got a better ride,  better GPS and sound system (except for the amp)...........and I'm a happy camper. :drink:
