Are you referring to the music from the Garmin not playing through the bike speakers or the directions? If it is the music you refer to you need to install a splitter before the NIM module and plug one cable into the AUX port on the front of the radio. Otherwise the MPS feature of your Garmin does not play through the bike speakers no matter what position your switch is in.

So, the directions will not play on the speakers? I don't want to use the Garmin for music. It seems redundant to have the iPod mini and music on the Garmin too.

I have not had a lot of time to learn how every thing works. It never sits still very long, I am enjoying riding to much.

OK then there are a few things to check. There are multiple volume settings on the Garmin itself. Check all of those.

There is also a separate volume control on the bike for NAV/Bluetooth. Check that as well.

And last is to check the position of that dam speaker switch! In one position all sounds come out headset only. In another position all sounds come out bike speakers only. In yet the third position music comes out the bike speakers but the Garmin only comes out on the headset. That last one is what I did to mine.

As for music on the GPS instead of the ipod. I found that the ipod was constantly loosing its place in a play list. Starting from the beginning of the playlist everytime I started the bike or worse yet going all the way back to the root menu!
I prefer the MP3 on the Garmin, easier to find music, playlists, artists, albums and songs.

I just traded for my first CVO, a FLHTCUSE7. Orange on black. The Garmin will not cut the radio out at all. It only plays on the Garmin. I have checked all the settings and switches, but it still will not play thru the bike speakers. Or eve mute the sound.
Any ideas?

Which Garmin came with your bike? The 660 or the 665?
