A few months ago I found a broken butterfly shaft on my FLHTCSE 103. I replaced the entire throttle body with new OEM part.
I am now finding that over time the butterfly has started sticking closed every time I close the throttle, unless I close it very gently... If, for example, I were to release the throttle from wide open and let it slam closed it is VERY difficult to get it open again ... I have confirmed it is the butterfly sticking, not the cables, shaft etc ..
looking for some advice here from some experts on best method to resolve the issue ...
1) remove and ask Harley for a replacement? (I suppose the risk is the next one does the same thing)
2) remove the throttle stop plug and adjust accordingly so it does not stick anymore (I'm sure just a fraction would do it)
3) loosen butterfly to shaft screws and allow it to center itself.
other options? please share
thanks for any advise ..
