Hey SSB,
I also enjoy the show. I don't watch it religiously but do catch it when I can. But I always felt it was sort of staged meaning maybe the repos did actually happen as they depict but the footage was a reenactment in accordance to what really may have happened and not actually happening as they show.
The only reason I suspect that it isn't real is because I have not watched an episode showing fistfights or gunshots being fired...maybe I just missed those.

You must have missed those.
And I suspect so did the cameramen.

I watch it. It's entertaining. It's probably staged sometimes (more likely reenacted). It's TV and to stay on they have to have some drama to get the ratings.

I can assure you that much of the program is staged and mostly BS.  It is a federal crime to cross into the flight line areas, ramps or access the private hangars at any public municipal or regional airport without having the proper clearance or being known by the airport authority and security on that field.  Not only is it considered an offense but it could be a good way of getting yourself shot to death.  If there is a legitimate claim against an aircraft on the field by any financial institute, all that has to be done is present the proper documents to the FBO manager or airport authority and they will provide an escort to the aircraft where either a proper locking device can be applied until the claim dispute is settled or if the individual has a court order for the surrender of said aircraft, a properly rated pilot could, without having to sneak around after dark, fly the aircraft off of the field.  These shows are for entertainment of people that really don't know how business is handled at an airfield.

I knew that there would be some chains yanked when I wrote that comment, with a smile on my face.   ;D  Some people it's just too easy.

So what are we to believe.
It's difficult to determine if your serious or if your just yanking another chain.

I worked for USAir for a few years and know how business is handled at an airfield. With the right credentials (be they legal or illegal) anyone can get on the tarmac. So yank away! Glad you enjoyed the entertainment.

Staged or not to me it is not a bad show. I watch it sometimes. Much better than the 5 seconds of Honey Do Do... I mean boo boo.

No chain yanking on this one, I've been working on airfields of different sizes for over 20 years and have witnessed  the repo of several aircraft.  Just go ask any airport police or TSA officer what their opinion is on the subject.  Now on the other thread about non H-D or CVO bike reviews, much chain yanking.   :P

On a class B airport it's very hard or almost impossible to do a trespass repo. But on a class C and D it's much easier and completely uncontrolled airports  (E) anyone can walk into.

This is definitely possible. My credential here is that I am a commercial pilot and I can tell you that repo can for sure happen but not on a class B airport (Like Chicago O'Hare)

Sorry did not want to start an argument but this is for sure possible

Thank you RW. Don't think I have seen these guys at a major airport trying to REPO.
It's a show and they do repo. I'm sure they always check their Repo rules to see if the airport is a dlaws off limit airport.
Or maybe that rule was just a part of the script.
Either way it's fun to watch and entertaining.

I am sure it's 80% scripted. All the "reality shows" are in my opinion.

I imagine there's scripting and reenacting in most all reality shows.  Doesn't bother me.  If they're entertaining to watch, I watch.  If they're not, I don't...  I can't hardly find a "network" show with writers and actors and such that's entertaining enough to watch.  Television in general is a shadow of what it once was.  Thank God for sports!  It's a lot more fun to watch multi millionaires play games...   :huepfenjump3:
