uncomfortable
« on: August 31, 2014, 06:13:57 PM »

I have a 2008 Ultra CVO. The seat is uncomfortable for me and my rider. I was wondering if there where any suggestions for a new seat.

It's pretty much trial and error for most. I personally like the Harley Hammock seat on my cvo and I have a tallboy seat on my flhp.

I like my Mustang Touring seat. I'd get another one.

I think part of it depends on your build and your weight, for both you and the passenger. What is right for some may not be right for you. I have not switched seats, but in looking at the saddleman products I have to say that is where I might start for me, although I wish there were a way to try them before spending that much money on something that may not be right for me

Try the HD seat demo program at your local dealer.

We are very happy with the Corbin DualTour

nvdeer, Regarding your seat issues. I suggest going to a custom upholstery shop and having them contour your seat to fit your needs. I did this on my 09 not because it was uncomfortable but because it was too wide at the front and I needed it to be a little thinner to bring my feet closer to the ground.  The upholstery shop contoured the foam and installed a gel pad. I sat on the bike before they reinstalled the "leather" cover. I think I had him remove a little more foam and then replace the cover. I just did the driver's part of the seat. The heater still works  fine and I recently did a 3K mile trip with no issues. Total price: $450.00.  There are so many variables to seating comfort. It would suck to buy a new or replacement seat and still be uncomfortable. Maybe you can get a new seat for less than $450.00, but if you have your seat customized to fit your exact needs a few dollars more is worth it. I think there have been a few seat issues I have commented on so if my response is a repeat my apologies. CAHDBIKER

I have had many of the major brands of seats out there plus some custom made ones. (Mustang, Corbin, Ultimate, C&C, ect..) I have always been pleased with the Mustang and Ultimate seats. Very comfortable and several options out there. I have a Mustang on my CVO right now, and an Ultimate on another bike I have.

I have a Corbin seat and I like it, however, there are many other seat manufacturer's to choose from.  I have tried some of them, but liked Corbin the best.

Another option is sending your seat in to: http://www.meancitycycles.com/
JSWERVE recommends them and this was in his post, you might send him a PM if he doesn't hit this thread.

I'll add another vote for Mustang.  Most comfortable seat I've ever used.

X2

I had my seat reupholstered because it was coming apart at the seams.  The person who did it replaced with leather and did not follow the same seam pattern.  Made a world of difference.
