Thought I would share this experience with my dealer.
After a lot of research I purchased a TTS for my FXSBSE. There aren't a lot of Dynos up this way so I liked the options the TTS gives you, especially keeping control of the original MTE file, the ability to perform closed course tuning runs and great documentation and support. It helps that I am a technical guy and I like this stuff. The great reviews on this site also helped in my decision. Thanks for a great product Steve Cole.
I have been making several closed course tuning runs and feel very comfortable with how things are going, but for the heck of it while at my dealer the other day I thought I would ask about their Dyno services.
I should add that my relationship with my dealer is okay, they don't seem to have a very good reputation, but they were the only nearby dealer that could get me a CVO Breakout, even coming through with the colour I wanted.
I asked the Service Manager about getting my bike on the Dyno and told him I had a TTS. He looked at me kind of funny (why do these guys have to act superior to their customers?) Why would you buy one of those? he asked. I told him my reasons and I felt is was a very good solid product.
I then asked him what the cost would be, he quoted me the hourly rate and said it depended on how many pulls he would need to make, he then said that they hadn't had a lot of success with the TTS product. Hmmm! WTF? Was he trying to steer me towards the SERT?
I thanked him and told him I would let him know. I still didn't know what it would cost to get my bike Dyno'd there.
I think I will stick to my closed course tuning runs and have fun learning more about tuning with my TTS!
