Is it possible to figure out the order in which your bike was built by the VIN #? Are CVO bikes VIN #'s a different sequence than non-CVO?

I'm gonna guess that the higher VIN numbers were built after the lower VIN numbers.

I'm not sure where it is exactly but it has been brought up on the site many times.  There were only a few lines of bikes that were numbered, all the others (including CVO'S) were not numbered as per sequence.  It is not possible to tell when it was built by way of the VIN number.

thx marty...that's kind of a shame. I know my bike was probably an "earlier" one, as the original owner purchased it in October, 2010, shortly into the model year.

Only the Anniversary Models give the order they were made in as far as I know.

Take a look at the certification label on the left side of the frame at the steering head.  It has the VIN, the GVWR, and it also shows the month and year the bike was produced (ie.  03-10).  If you want the exact date of the month, I assume you would have to contact H-D and ask for the information.  I have no idea if they would take the time to look it up for you, but as they often say, you don't know unless you ask.
