Throttle seems hard to twist
« on: September 29, 2014, 02:42:51 PM »

Hey all..
I have a 2007 FLHRSE3 and the throttle seems hard to twist lately.  To the point of making my hand actually tired.  I "think" I can actually feel something dragging when I twist it.  I have looked at everything and cant find anything obvious.  Has anyone else had this?
Thanks

When was the last time the throttle grip and cables were cleaned and lubricated?  That will make a big difference.

Didn't those older models have that thumb twist throttle screw for what we used to call poor mans cruise control? I know my 04 did if that is tightened it would act like that

No this model has an actual cruise control.

Update:  I disassembled the throttle assembly on the handlebars and oiled it.  Also oiled the cable with cable lube (metal syringe-like delivery system), and the problem is solved.  No I guess I need to take care of the lifters and top-end noise.. sigh..
Thanks
