This sucks big time!
While getting a new bike might make one feel better, the damage was only cosmetic. Replacing the parts damaged would bring it back to where it was before transported. It would be difficult to convince them to replace the whole bike due to cosmetic damage.
As stated previously, now is the time to ask for upgrades and future discounts. The dealer will most likely work with you with this. Also, a loaner is not unreasonable, considering you are still paying for the bike if financed and are not able to enjoy use it while the weather is still decent.
Hope it all works out for you. Main thing is keep the anger in check, if possible. (Something I find difficult to do when wronged.) It tends to cause resistance and lack of cooperation on the accused. By making reasonable requests and not throwing rocks, you will get treated very well and hopefully have your bike back in top shape again.
I've seen a tri-glide totaled to cosmetic damages. (We actually think this thing rolled off the barge and into the water but could never prove it.)
The bike was missing for 10 days during transport, when it was found it looked like it had been dunked in salt water, allowed to drip dry and never washed.
As far as a loaner: Your bike has cosmetic damages and is still 100% ride-able, right?
in 2012 my FLTRXSE was loose in the box as shipped from HD to Hawaii. About $6K in damage, all cosmetic and didn't affect how it drove or rode.
Since I was getting a great deal and I was trading my bike in I was given option to keep riding mine or to take the new one as is and it would take less than a day to correct the issues once the replacement parts were here.
None of my scoots are garage or trailer queens so I rode it home and got a call about 12 days later... (It was already due for 1K service so we dropped it off and picked it up a day later since it was service plus parts R&R)
