Paint rubbing off in filler neck
« on: October 10, 2014, 11:06:37 AM »

Just noticed yesterday while filling up that the paint or coating is rubbed off on the receiving end of the gas cap.(inside grooves). I have never cross threaded the cap so I do not understand why this happened. Maybe it happened at the dealer before  i picked it up and never noticed. Is this a concern, anyone have this issue?

I had paint melting on my tank. It was gas leak from bad tank gasket, but it wasnt at filler cap. Either way it should be a warranty issue. My tank was replaced for free.

The paint at the bottom of my fuel filler hole, where there are one big hole and a couple of little ones is flaking off.  I can imagine that one day, while I'm crossing the desert of Utah, the bike will sputter and stop due to a clogged fuel filter.

Now I hold the nozzle carefully as to no knock any more off, and not to damage the top ring of the bright-work.  I'' post a pic soon.
