2013 Lifters

Since they upgraded the lifters in 2013, I was wondering what was the most miles put on the new designed lifters so far without problems? Also if anyone here with the supposedly improved 2013 lifters have had a failure? I have 22,000 miles on mine now and so far so good, but I can't help but be a little nervous about it.

I have the same with 8K on them. They are noisy as hell. I will pull them and do a leakdown test plus look at the internals this winter. That said I will replace them with our US made premium lifters because I know what those do as far as leakdown and roller durability.

I had a 2013 Road Glide and the lifters rattled like crazy on cold (65 degree) mornings until they pumped up.  Put 850-1's in at 6000 miles and never heard them again.

My dealer told me, and I am sure others every day, the noise is "normal". I asked why they do it, certainly knowing why myself but just wanting to hear their rationalization. He said these are a big motor with a big camshaft (LOL).  :orange: Hooray, now I get it

"with a big camshaft"

Those dealer folks sure are funny. Wonder how he would describe a SE266.

Probably think it has enough power to be installed in a Saturn V rocket......
