Talk about an underwear ruining moment!

Ha-ha, I bet deldago! Can't say that every happened to me although I've seen plenty of deer and sometimes moose around the roadway. You never know how they'll react as you approach them. A large dog jumped off a hill right over me one time years ago. I was riding a Norton Commando with no helmet - definitely needed clean skivvies after that episode...

In many states it's illegal to take home a deer if you hit it with your vehicle

Venison stew, if prepared properly, is excellent. Venison can be gamey, of course, but prepared well can be delicious.

I wonder if there are insurance clauses for those in the high risk areas... like flood or tornado coverages in those high risk areas

No deer clause here; but I'm sure if you made too many claims the ole premium would jump upwards.   ;D

And then Wisconsin is on there. We ride there every year since we can get there in 3 hours and it's great riding. The deer I see on the shoulder are HUGE!

Hmmm...so I guess a lot of cheese equals a lot of deer???

If there are no deer clauses I am thinking there will soon be.  State Farm has not prepared this little study just for your entertainment nor do I expect them to just eat the cost of the study...they will recoup the expense ten-fold by increasing the rates for those of us at the most risk.  At least the the way I see it.

Although California isn't on the list, it is still a big problem here. I passed between two deer one morning on the way to work at Stanford. They ere costing the road on a dark morning. I turned on the brights and there they were. I didn't have time to do anything but aim for the few inches between. I'm a lucky guy.

Wishing all safe journies.

I really expected TN to be on the list.  I have hit one, in a car, one hit my truck, rear quarter panel.  Most every one I know has hit one.

Here in the Keystone you have to dodge the deer just like the potholes. I've had a couple close calls on the bike, at least now when I rev it they usually get scared and run the other way. I think they should be open game 365 days a year, all they're good for is wrecking everybody's vehicles ... and for eating!

In MN we don't hit them, they run into us.  I've had three doors replaced when they come out of a field and just don't stop running. This time of year it's really bad.   Brains--they don't have.

Don't know how Jersey doesn't make the list. One of the most populated states in the country with tens of thousands of deer everywhere.

I see so many dead deer that seeing one usually doesn't stand out anymore. But headless deer - that is another story. So far this year I have seen at least a dozen deer with racks and at least that many with no heads. I just don't get the concept of taking a "trophy" head that you didn't get. But then again, I don't hunt on land.

Sure doesn't help when you get knuckleheads feeding them in populated ares. I took this video last Sunday at work, this trio have now started coming into the firehouse when the bay doors are open.

iPhone video and I usually can get within 5 feet.

My son has had two collision in the past two years, 1st center punched him on his bike, 2nd centered punched his car.
We have had 2-3 deer strikes wit our fire apparatus in the last few years as well.
