There was a time during gas price crisis that Toyota and Honda were asking for and getting market premiums on their offerings. There are other car makers with specific models of interest who are able and do the same. So MoCo are not the only opportunistic capitalist bastards in this world  :D

DH

$5000 over at the time for a Honda Accord.
I think the MSRP was around 22k.

That's chitty.  I treat all riders the same.  Even preppy riders at a Honda Hoot in their matching shorts.  Everyone gets a wave.  Well... everyone except for the obnoxious kids on scooters that aren't even street legal, somehow manage to avoid the helmet requirement because of it and try to ride like real bikes and just screw up traffic in the process.  Them I want to see get hit between the eyes with a locust.

Ha. I guess my feeble attempt at sarcasm failed Don. I was refering to passing them up, on the inside of a corner, going the same direction.  ;)
But wave backs from HD riders vary, I don't give it much thought. I even wave to motor cops, which has gotten me out of a couple of tickets so far.

I started riding Harleys with a 1987 FLHTC then in 1990 A FLHTCU after that a 1993 Anniv, 1998 Anniv and 2008 CVO Anniv. With the heat and engine noise I decided to change bikes. I tried a 2014 Harley Ultra Limited, they have changed the handling of these bikes it just did not feel right in the turns. I tried a Goldwing and with a 16 shoe I could not shift it. I then tried a BMW K 1600 Gtl and I was sold. They offered me a scream deal on a 2014 BMW K 1600 GTL Exclusive. I brought it home today and at this time I am a true believer in this bike. No vibration, no heat, unbelievable power and handling. And to much technology to go into. No I am not bashing Harley, but they need to get rid of the CEO they have now. No mater what you say a Temp on a production line at low wages and no benefits will not give a crap how a bike goes together. And how they have cheapen engine parts is a crime. I will keep reading post on this forum to see if they make changes. Ride Safe

 :worthless:  :worthless:
Those are nice bikes, but I couldn't stand all the driveline lash when I took one out for a spin. I got away from HD a couple times in the past ('07 GL1800 & '13 Ducati Multistrada) and both times found out the hard way I made a mistake. I always end up back here because the other bikes lack the style and that cool sound only a Harley makes ... give it some time and you'll miss it too. You can try to convince yourself, but in time you'll want a HD again. Good luck and have fun with that 160 hp. If I ever pass you on the road, I'll wave cause I know I missed all those thumbs up or hands in the air when I wasn't on a HD.  :vrolijk17:

Waving at cops on motorcycles or in cars are a must...more so than waving to bmw's.

I was guessing that's where you were going (ba dum bum bum) with that Trap.  I tried to play too (locusts!).  But everyone is all serious sometimes.  Hell of a way to run a playground...  :huepfenlol2:

How about if they have owned one and they have dumped it because of reliability issues?  Does that apply to readers here who bad mouth the other brands even if they don't own one or have never owned one?

Just trying to figure out the ground rules...
