Remember they make the boards easier to scape in a hard turn.  I had em on my 04.  And took them off.   I got mine from Baker Customs.     Not the transmission guys.

I've had floorboard extensions on my last 2 bikes. I've never scraped them and I've ridden through the black hills and the Smokies. They add a ton of comfort by getting your legs out away from the gas tank. It's one of the first mods I do. Love em.

^^ This ^^  :2vrolijk_21:  I have had them in all my bikes... no issues with scraping the boards... just slow down in the curves :D

Just be careful if the bike is lowered.

One of our members, "Jonga" had them on his Ultra, scraped in a curve and went down hard. Hopefully someone here can find that thread and link it as its very comprehensive.

Not saying that's going to happen for sure, but it is something to keep in mind. And for the rider who doesn't like to push hard, it will never be an issue.

But it sure was for Jonga.

1. I wouldn't lower my bike.

2. Like mentioned before, If you ride your touring Harley like a crotch rocket into curves, not for you. Although the floor boards are designed to move so unless you are so far over you're hitting the braces even catching the boards shouldn't be that big of a deal. I wouldn't know I'm not in a hurry. Too busy enjoying my surroundings.

Well some folks prefer to lower the bike. Even with the low seat, raised soles, all of that, sometimes they are more comfortable with a lower bike.

Personally, I'm actually looking to raise my bike, gonna go with Ohlins #6 in the rears. The previous owner lowered it and had floorboard extensions on it. Those were the first thing to come off as they dragged the boards and brackets when I taught the Ride Like A Pro.

Like many I ride the bike as it was intended upon design. I am not too overly enthusiastic in the curves, but I do still do enjoy a good scrape once in a while. However I do LOVE to do police courses. It's in my blood, it's what I was taught, and it's what I taught others. Full lock hard leaned, dragging the boards on a circle or figure 8 is my idea of practice and fun, and that's where the boards and brackets drag.

So like I said earlier, for me, off came the extensions and up goes the height.

I have the same bike, 2014, CVO road king and I have scrapped pretty hard twice. Nothing happened but I hate to think what would have happened with floor board extensions. The CVO RK is lowered (compared to the regular RK) so it would make it worse.
I do tend to ride a little aggressively though, so may be it is just me...

Had extensions on my 2011 Ultra (not lowered) and scraped hard several times.  What bothered me was the bracket touched road before the hinged floor board.  Took them off before it caused me to have an accident.  I've seen video's somewhere of it literally lifting the rear tire off the pavement resulting in a crash.  Didn't consider the way I was riding to be overly aggressive, just enjoying a spirited curvy road.  I did have a couple of curves catch me by surprise and scraped while correcting to stay in my lane.  Told myself if I ever put any more on it would be the type that move the floorboard hinge and pan wider but not the bracket.

I have a 12 sg3.   I honestly would NOT put those on again,, I have no problem being comfortable with the stock set up with the floorboards.  But I have scraped before, and really didn't enjoy that at all,,  and I like taking a turn hard now and then.  Don't do it!   Just sayin,,,,, ::)

This thread has gotten out of hand imo.

Here's the deal, they are like 50 bucks. Put the Damn things on and if you scrape pull em off.
