Soon to be new owner... Of a still brand new 2013 FLHRSE5!
« on: November 16, 2014, 02:15:52 PM »

Hello all!  Just wanted to say hi and thanks.  This forum has helped me make some decisions.  I actually found the bike I wanted - a 2013 CVO Road King Anniversary edition - STILL unsold at a dealer in California.  Deposit has been made and I'll fly out in a couple weeks to finish the paperwork!  I fell in love with this bike when I first saw one in 2013 but was a new rider and was only in the market for a used "starter" bike at the time. Now that I'm in the market for a new ride - and likely a CVO - I was shocked when I came across a brand new 2013 CVO still unsold!  I was thinking about the 2015 CVO SG, but just couldn't commit to a fairing full time - though that Ultraviolet Blue and Orange paint job nearly had me spend the money anyway!

In any case, I am extremely excited to join the CVO fraternity.  I know my journey (and spending) is just beginning.  Speaking of spending... Planned upgrades already include a Tour Pak and Dragonfly fairing (I said I couldn't commit to one full time, but I definitely appreciate the benefits in some of my longer trips!).  I'll keep reading the forums and looking for other bright ideas to make my knew whip what I want it to be.

Photos to come... Though now two years later, I'm sure you've all seen them before!   :)

Congratulations on the new ride! I can sure relate to what you mean about fallin in love with the "13 model. I did the same thing! Was able to locate mine on Ebay about 700 miles north of me with only 800 miles on the odometer. I went from a 2010 Ultra Classic & I could not be happier. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine!!!! Good Luck Bro!!

I love the 2013 CVORK. The audio package is a huge advantage over the 2014, but the 2014 came in some great colors. Congrats on the new scoot.

Congratulations you will love it.  They handle great!

I love my 13 SERK Anniversary bike.  I specifically ordered to to go with my 100th Anniversary Fatboy.  Both are keepers and will not leave my stable.  Its my Hot Rod, with a built motor.

Congratulations! I just picked up my 2nd CVO last week, a 2013 CVO RK (BURGUNDY BLAZE) from a private owner with 597 miles on it.
Enjoy!

I love riding my 2014 RK, managed to put 2000km on over 4 weeks before snow stopped play! Starting to think of mods, I had it delivered with highway pegs, GPS and a Supertrapp Suppermeg. Now thinking of getting a TTS tune to optimise the pipe and air cleaner and some Progressive front fork cartridges to take out some of the front end dive. Just the start I think.........

Good you found a new 2013, have fun they are great bikes.

Welcome to the fold...  Have to say, my '13 SERK has been the bike I have always wanted, but damn, she is always attacking my wallet.  Probably need to ban myself from this site!

Ride safe,

Welcome to the site, Brent and congrats on that beautiful color combo and getting your dream ride.  You show great knowledge and patience.  Knowledge that being a new rider, you needed some more seat time.  Patience in you found a new '13 in the anni colors...a hard task in itself....just means it was meant to be.

The '13 anni color along with the 100th anni colors are my favorite.  The MoCo outdid themselves on the 110 anni color combo.....great looker and can't wait to see some pics when you finally do take ownership.

Big dawg I have the dragonfly concept faring on my 13 cvo road king and love it. I went with the Garmin mount inside faring. Really clean look. A bit of a bitch to wire up so the stock speakers and handle bar controls still work but sounds good!

Thanks for the confirmation, amvetstech!  The photos I've seen from Dragonfly of their fairings for the FLHRSE5 have been great.  I will also get the Garmin integrated into the fairing.  And they reassure me that their wiring harness makes things easy to use and easy to attach and detach the fairing, but that initial install will take some time.  That's OK with me though... I'm getting the bike I want with the flexibility I want - stripped down cruiser for around town, built-up tourer for the long hauls.  And tunes playin' the whole time!
