Does anyone know of a good place to get a stock header pipe that has the cat removed and welded back up decent?

I believe Fullsac offers such a product, with a few improvements thrown in.  I'd probably prefer to go with something that's been done by professionals, as opposed to an unknown product from ebay or another similar source.  Follow this link for details.

I'm absolutely with Jerry on this one... Fullsac has this technology down - safer/easier to go with a proven performer over 'reinventing the wheel' - IMHO.

When I made my decision the extra $100 for the DX pipe over the sport pipe was worth it to me, I am very happy with it. If you just want to get rid of the cat without any performance gains any descent welder should be able to do it for under $100 as the guys on ebay are doing. Definitely the cheapest way to get rid of the cat, but the cheapest is rarely the best. 8)

If you go with Fullsac they give a discount for being a CVO Forum member... DX pipe is way to go along with the TTS.

Cut mine out myself with a air grinder and a few hand tools. Then had a friend's brother weld it up for me for a case of beer.  Easy enough to do. Had it all done and reinstalled in a weekend.  Otherwise check Ebay or Craigslist. Craigslist is nice cause you might find one local enough you can go look at it before you agree to buy it.

I have gutted many OEM head pipes. It is more time consuming than anything. You can do most of it yourself if you want to make sure it is done right and save yourself $. Draw out a window over the cat on the front side of the pipe so that your heat shields will cover it. Aprox 2.5"x5" works well. Cut the window out with a jig saw. Pry the window off and commence to digging out the material. You need to be sure to get 100% of it out and then use a angled die grinder with a small sanding disc to sand and polish inside the cavity. After perfectly clean take the window and the pipe to a welding shop to have it welded back on. You will be happy with how it sounds and how the bike runs and you wont miss the oven under your leg.

Just installed the DX pipe and 2" Cores yesterday.  Everything went very smooth. The craftmanship and fit was very good.  Took it for a run around the block (country block), sounded great!
