I did not get an extended warranty....bought the bike in June of '05

This machine should have a two year warranty. I can't believe that I actually beat Hoist to the punch on this!!.  :)

Wow 16oz in the tranny.  I've been told to run 20-22oz in the tranny.  I had a shift shaft seal replaced about a year ago and have had no trouble since.

Some virtual dude on the Internet told me to reduce the fluid in my transmission my 33%. Yeah, right; I’ll get right on it. You’re right Magoo, something just doesn’t sound right here.

The attached photo is from an HD Service Manual from 1984 to 1990. Again, I wouldn’t run 16 ounces in just any BT 5 speed transmission because of the time-tested issues with the clutch release bearing.

Yippee!!  Dealer scheduled my bike for Monday morning.  Will replace shifter seal and most likely the mainshaft seal.  They'll try to get HD to spring for it since some of those too have been leaking.  Also put my name on the chrome inner primary they had in stock.

Little question.  There's no chance that they are going to slap me with having Redline Shockproof in there??  I think there's a law about this.....as long as I'm providing proper maintenance and reputable fluids, they cannot refuse warranty.  Right?

I've had dealers threaten me saying that the first thing HD does is order an oil sample and if anything other than HD oil/SYN III is in there, you're hosed.  Yes, there is a law against that, so their threats are idle.  I can't remember the spelling but it is something like Manguson-Moss Act.  As long as the failure cannot be attributed to the oil you use, then there is nothing the dealer can do to void your warranty.  I've had dealers tell me that doesn't apply to them............which is the time when you confirm that you are speaking with a real idiot and leave.  Some folks you just can't reach.  I wouldn't worry about it, but please do keep us posted, and remember the law is one your side.

Be careful gang! According to my '07 Service Manual and my Brand New FLHRSE3 owner's manual, ALL '07 FLH/FLT SPEEDS TAKE 32 OUNCES IN THE TRANS and 45 OUNCES IN THE PRIMARY! I'm not sure about their other 6-speeds. Just thought I'd mention it! ;) Hoist! 8-)
